Discovering her.
Kolter's point of view
It was the day that we would be bringing in a herd of wild horses that my dad owned. I had been in the barn saddling up my horse when I heard rustling from the hay loft just above where I was standing, quickly stopping what I had been doing to investigate the cause of the sounds I was hearing when I seen someone duck down between the bales of hay just a few feet from me.
I wasn't sure who the person was but I climbed down the ladder and went looking for my dad to let him know of the uninvited guest that was hiding in the hay loft. He quickly rushed over to the barn to see who it was and after he cocked the barrel to the shotgun he had in his hands, the person slowly stood up with hands high in the air after he spoke clearly to them.
Mr. Jenkins: whoever you are, come out now or I will shoot.
I waited patiently for the person to say something and noticed that the trespasser was a female, her beauty was like nothing that I have never seen before and I couldn't find the words to say but my dad decided to address her before I had the chance to say something.
Mr. Jenkins: who are you and why have you come here?
Pandora: my name is Andi sir and I mean no harm, I just needed a place to rest my head before I went on my way.
Mr. Jenkins: well if I were you I'd be on my way now.
Pandora: I do apologize for trespassing but I'm a long way from where I should be...
Kolter: maybe she could be useful around here dad, you're always talking about how you're cooking skills aren't the best and well perhaps she...
Mr. Jenkins: I don't think that's going to happen son, she obviously has someplace else to be...
I watched as she grabbed her bag and quickly climbed down the ladder, I wasn't sure why she decided to come here but I come up with a plan to drive her into town.
Kolter: get in the truck and I will take you to town, there's a bus station there.
Pandora: I don't want to be a bother on you anymore then I already am.
Kolter: I have to head to town anyway, it won't be a problem, come on.
I watched as she climbed in the truck after placing her bag in the back. I watched as she stared out the window and remained quiet the entire time, I wasn't sure where she was headed but I made sure that she had everything she needed before she left the city.
Kolter: I know that you probably are a long way from where you need to be or where you're going but I hope you have everything you need.
Pandora: I will manage just fine but I'm going to need a job and a place to live because I don't plan on going back to where I come from.
Kolter: I know that a job is available at the farmer's market and I have an apartment if you're needing a place to sleep at night.
Pandora: I really shouldn't, I...
Kolter: I insist, I don't want to see you sleeping in the streets...
Pandora: I don't want to intrude...
Kolter: you want be intruding, I don't stay there anymore since I work for my dad.
I handed her the key to the apartment after showing her the place which wasn't far from where the farmer's market was. I knew it would be perfect for her since she got a job there, I watched as she looked around the apartment before placing her bag on the bed.
Pandora: it's...
Kolter: small I know but it's perfect for someone living alone.
Pandora: thank you for letting me stay here.
Kolter: you're welcome Andi.
