Laid off and pregnant

Pandora's point of view

I finally arrived back home after leaving the grocery store and had just started cooking dinner when I seen Luke walk through the front door while Riley crawled towards him.

Pandora: I wasn't expecting you to be home so soon, is everything okay between you and your boss?

Luke: I wish I could say it was but he laid me off and gave me my final paycheck.

Pandora: did he at least give you a reason why you were laid off.

Luke: yeah, he said the new owner no longer wanted immigrants working for his company, so almost the entire crew members were laid off for just having accents are speaking in their native language.

Pandora: I'm sorry baby, I know that you will find a new job soon, there's plenty of people in the city that are looking for hardworking men like yourself.

Luke: yeah well I guess it's for the best, I heard that the new owner is a spoiled brat anyway so it's no big deal, it was going to happen eventually.

Pandora: who is the new owner anyway?

Luke: I don't know his name, all I know is that he's some big shot governor of Washington D.C.

Pandora: the governor of D.C

Luke: yeah, if I was near the guy I'd shove this check right down his throat.

Pandora: I know you're upset but can you not talk like that with our son around please.

Luke: I'm sorry baby I just can't stand racist jerks...

Pandora: it's going to be okay, you'll find another job baby.

I watched as he pulled off his boots along with his gloves and hard hat and I assume he left the safety vest in his truck with his other work equipment but I didn't push it any further since he was upset about getting laid off. I sent a text to Theo letting him know that his dad just had Luke and other people who spoke with an accent fired from the company he just bought, he immediately text me back letting me know the reason behind them being fired and I quickly explained that I wasn't upset about the decision but Luke was upset about it.

I put my phone back on the counter and finished cooking dinner when I seen Luke walk out of the bathroom wearing just a pair of sweatpants so I decided to take the opportunity to try and at least make him laugh which worked for a few minutes anyways...

Pandora: excuse me sir, what are you doing?

Luke: are you talking to me or Riley?

Pandora: I'm talking to you.

Luke: I'm not doing anything, why do you ask?

Pandora: your choice of wardrobe, are you trying to seduce me?

Luke: why, is it working?

Pandora: maybe, I don't know... yes...

Luke: good than I'm doing my job.

Pandora: I'm appalled Mr. Hemmings, there is a child wandering around this place.

Luke: do I have permission to put the child to bed so I can show you a few things madam boss lady?
