chapter twenty eight

Date night.

Pandora's point of view

I had just woken up hearing Evara crying when I noticed that he wasn't in bed next to me, I quickly rushed out of bed and changed her diaper then fed her when I seen him walk into the bedroom.

Pandora: is everything okay? You look rough baby...

Kolter: I'm fine, I just needed to take a break before finishing what I need to do...

Pandora: you should rest for awhile, you really do look wore out.

Kolter: I promise that I'm fine, I do have something for you but it will have to wait until tomorrow...

Pandora: does this have something to do with the way you look now?

Kolter: it does actually, it's being difficult but it can be handled with some hard work.

Pandora: don't wear yourself out, I do want to keep you around for a long time.

Kolter: I'm not going anywhere anytime soon, I promise...

I watched as he grabbed a pair of basketball shorts and walked to the bathroom. I decided to join him after his dad agreed to watch Evara, I knew that she would be taken care of while I washed up.

After I finished getting a shower, Kolter decided to put away the horses for the night and spend time with his family since we hadn't got a chance to have time alone since before Evara was born and his dad agreed to watch her longer while we headed to the next city to spend time alone.

Kolter: this is nice...

Pandora: yeah...

It wasn't anything fancy but it was better than being in a crowded area, he decided that we spend alone time under the stars while we had dinner...

Pandora: it is beautiful out here, how did you find out about this place?

Kolter: it doesn't look like it now but my dad's ranch used to start from here to where it is now but when my mother passed away he had to sell it to pay for her funeral and even though he doesn't live here anymore the land still belongs to him. I thought about having a home built here but I didn't have no use for so much land which is why I bought the apartment since it was just me at the time.

I seen the old ranch house close to where the truck was parked and decided to run inside while looking around.

Kolter: where are you going?

Pandora: come find out!

I heard his footsteps running after me as I disappeared inside the abandoned house. I stayed as quiet as I could while he searched for me in the dark but he soon found me after a piece of wood broke underneath my foot which caused me to stumble into him before I fell.

Kolter: be careful, the place is over twenty years old.

I quickly turned around and looked into his eyes as the moonlight shone through the window then felt his lips gently press against mine as he pulled me close so I wouldn't fall through the crack that I just made into the floor beneath my feet.

Kolter: you are so beautiful...

Pandora: Kolter...?

Kolter: yeah babe...?

Pandora: what would you be doing if we never met?

Kolter: honestly, I'd probably still be having some other lucky girl chasing after me but I'd rather be searching for you so we could do what we're doing now.

Pandora: I'd probably be married to Theo right now if we never met.

Kolter: I have to ask, what made you settle for a guy like me over a guy like Theo?

Pandora: because my dad wanted me to marry Theo and as much as I love Theo, he was in love with Britney and I wouldn't stand in the way of his feelings for her. He has been in love with her for as long as I could remember which was when I was in College with him. I met her our second year and she was just starting out as a pediatrician

Kolter: and what did you want to do with your life?

Pandora: I actually planned on attending film school but when my father become the president that all changed so I dropped out and moved into his apartment in New York while he stayed at the white house. It wasn't what I wanted but he insisted that I find a new career and I met you a few weeks later because I didn't want to live that sort of life for myself.

Kolter: so you want to be a film maker?

Pandora: I did but if I had to pick a new career, I would probably be a photographer.

Kolter: and you should, I know of a person not far from here that works with other famous photographers if you are interested.

Pandora: I don't know, I have a child that needs me. I can't just stop being a mother to live out my dream.

Kolter: so take her with you...

Pandora: and what about you? I can't leave you....

Kolter: don't worry about me, I will be here when you return...

Pandora: I love you but I need to think about that...

Kolter: I love you too, take all the time you need to think about it.
