Numb

Pandora's point of view

I arrived at the restaurant after being five minutes late, I frantically looked around for him but didn't see him at any of the visible tables so I asked the lady was was seating people if a guy in his early thirties walked in here alone. I waited as she looked walked away from me after asking me to give her a minute so she could look around in the area that was across the restaurant where I couldn't see and I waited patiently for her to return only to be told that everyone on the other side wasn't alone, I quickly thanked her and walked back outside and looked for him in the line that was waiting for a table but he was nowhere to be seen, I continued looking for him around the area but I decided to wait a few more minutes for him but he never showed up, I pulled my phone out of my jacket pocket and send him a text explaining that I waited patiently for him and I would be at my apartment if he was still interested in meeting up with me.

I slowly walked back to my apartment after being heartbroken that he would stand me up after it was his idea to meet here, I had just stepped inside my apartment and seen Brit rocking Riley to sleep.

Britney: you're back early, I thought you were meeting up with Luke?

Pandora: he stood me up, I am going to get a shower and I will take him from you.

Britney: but you already took a shower...

I walked into the bathroom and locked the door and turned the shower on then sat down across from the toilet and pulled my knees towards my chest and placed my arms on my knees and proceeded to bury my face in my arms and cried silently.

I turned the shower off a few minutes later and washed my face then put on my boxers along with the shirt he left behind which was the same one I was wearing the last time he was here. I walked out of the bathroom and took Riley from her and put him in his crib so we could talk.

Britney: I don't understand why he would stand you up if it was his idea to meet you there.

Pandora: even if we did meet up there, the place was packed that there was at least fifty or more people outside waiting for a table. I just don't know what to do anymore, ever since he left this place I stopped eating, sleeping and I just get angry if I see him. I fired from the job I got for him and now that he isn't there, it's like he never existed even though what we had was real.

I felt the tears run down my face while I still had the same expression on my face as before...

Britney: I've never seen you this way before Panda bear, I don't like it. You're like a sister to me and I can't stand this side of you, you've become numb to any emotion. I miss the old you.

Pandora: I want her back just as much as you do and you're right, I have become numb. I've cried so much these last few months and I don't want to cry anymore. I watched my first love die in front of me along with our two kids and I just....

Britney: I love you panda bear and I'm deeply sorry that you had to go through that.

I stood up and walked out on the balcony which was something that I never did and she quickly followed me as she sat down beside and placed her hand on my shoulder then placed her head on my shoulder, I let out a loud cry while she stayed in the same spot.

Pandora: everyone I love disappears one way or another.

Britney: I know it doesn't seem fair but you will always have me and Theo here for you. We're not going to disappear, we love you panda bear and we always will.
