Home to you
Luke's point of view
After I finished packing the last of my things and placing them in the back of my truck, I thanked Mr. Jenkins for everything he did for me and Pandora.
Mr. Jenkins: anytime you need a job, you will always have one here Luke. Take care of yourself and your family.
Luke: I appreciate you letting me work here and if it doesn't work out in the city I will return if I need a job.
Mr. Jenkins: I will definitely give you a call if these new guys need someone to teach them a thing or two about how I do things around here.
Luke: sounds good to me, I hate rushing off but it's long drive to New York from here.
Mr. Jenkins: take care of yourself Luke and drive safe.
Luke: take care of yourself Uncle Alex.
I placed the last of my things into my truck before I begun driving towards New York so I could be with her. I made sure to watch my spending just in case Pandora need things for the baby or herself. I pulled up to a hotel after arriving to Iowa so I could check in with her and get some sleep for the night. I wasn't going to let her know that I was on my way to where she was because I wanted to surprise her.
Pandora: hey baby, I was just about to call you.
Luke: I guess I called at the right time, is there something going on?
Pandora: nothing is wrong, I was just wondering if Mr. Jenkins found a replacement for you yet...
Luke: he hasn't yet but there has been a few who tried keeping up but they tried.
Pandora: where are you at? The background looks different from what I remember seeing.
Luke: there's a horse auction that is in South Dakota, I'm at a hotel for the night since the event starts tomorrow.
Pandora: so Mr. Jenkins is selling some of his horses?
Luke: he's selling ten to twelve of them.
Pandora: how long will you be there.
Luke: at least two day but that could change depending on the weather but as of right now we will be here for two days
Pandora: have you gotten your house in Tennessee sold yet?
Luke: yeah, I have a card that I got from the bank that has the money on it.
Pandora: when will you be headed this way?
Luke: I will head that way as soon as I can I promise.
Pandora: okay, just stay safe out there baby.
Luke: I will.
As we continued talking, I noticed that she looked tired.
Luke: I won't keep you long since you are tired.
Pandora: our son tired me out today and it's already 11:30 at night here.
Luke: get some rest baby.
I watched as she placed her head on her hand while she fought to keep her eyes open. I heard her soft snores before I ended the call and decided to get some rest as well so I wouldn't fall asleep while driving to her apartment.
After I heard my alarm going off, I decided to turn in the room key after putting what was mine back into the truck. I knew that I had at least another twelve hours or so before I arrived to city.
***I had arrived to Ohio and got another hotel room for the night, I decided not to call her just in case she was busy working or chasing after Riley. I got a quick shower and decided to get some sleep.
