Home to her

Luke's point of view

I finally arrived at the address that she gave me and parked my truck in the parking garage before heading up to her apartment, I grabbed the flowers and my duffle bag then locked the truck as I took the elevator up to the floor the apartment was on. I quickly knocked on the door and nobody answered, I suddenly remembered that she gave me a spare key to get in with.

I looked around the place after I placed the flowers in a vase with water and placed them on the kitchen island then walked into our bedroom so I could put my clothes away. I wasn't sure when she would return and noticed that it was already late so I decided to cook something before she got here. I sent her a text message letting her know that I was thinking about her and she immediately replied back saying that she couldn't wait to see me along with telling me that she was some sort of gathering that would be honoring Theo's father. I didn't ask her when she was going to be heading home because I didn't want her knowing that I was here so I decided not to mention it anymore because I wanted to surprise her.

An hour passed since I got here and I had just finished cooking when I heard the sound of the lock click so I decided to hide after I turned the stove off and I heard her talking to someone and that's when I seen Theo and Brit entering the apartment while she was holding our son.

Theodore: it smells good in here, were you expecting company Pandora?

Pandora: I wasn't actually but someone decided to cook.

I quickly turned the volume of my phone down just in case she decided to text me which she did and she immediately started telling me that she believed that someone broke in the apartment. I didn't respond back because I wanted her to think that I was busy doing something else.

Britney: who would break into someone's home just to cook and disappear, are you sure it's not someone who was supposed to be here?

Pandora: the only person I am expecting to be here is Luke and he's at a horse auction in South Dakota, he's not supposed to be here for another few days.

Theodore: I don't know something strange is going on here...

I noticed that she was facing them so I decided to have them distract her while I snuck up behind her.

Theodore: so Pandora, it's your apartment do you want to call the police and report a break in?

Pandora: I don't know, there seems to be nobody here but us so I don't think calling the police would do any good.

Britney: I agree with her, if there was a burglar they would have made themselves known already so...

Theodore: I guess you're right baby. I just didn't want to leave Pandora alone in case someone else was here since someone clearly cooked dinner.

I placed one of my hands on her mouth and pulled her towards me which made her jump a little but she turned around and seen me.

Pandora: Luke!

I seen Britney take the baby from her as Pandora wrapped her arms around my neck and laid her head against my chest before she said anything else.

Pandora: when did you get here? I thought you...

Luke: I was never at any horse auction, I was at a hotel in Iowa when I told you that because I wanted to surprise you when I got here.
