chapter forty three

Panic attacks

Luke's point of view

It's been a couple of days since Pandora's father come over and spent time with Riley while getting to know me, I hadn't been sure if he approved of me being with her but I wasn't going to stop seeing her whether or not he didn't want us together. I had been with her, Britney and Theo while Britney helped the bridesmaids and maid of honor pick out dresses, which made me think of the day that Pandora and I would tie the knot which we really hadn't discussed since I asked her to marry me. I watched as she tried on multiple dresses and Britney finally found the perfect dress for her, it hugged her curves just right and looked loose around her stomach.

Britney: I love this one, it looks great on you. What do you think baby?

Theodore: it goes good with her skin complexion but that's up to her since she's the one who will be wearing it.

Pandora: I love the dress but I can't breath in it, it's too tight around my stomach.

Luke: are you okay baby?

Pandora: yeah, I'm just having a hard time breathing.

I quickly rushed to her side and walked her out of sight of the others and helped her out of the dress. I watched as she stepped out of it and I helped her put her clothes back on and held her after noticing that she was having a panic attack.

Luke: I'm right here buttercup, just take deep breaths.

I continued holding her while she did as I instructed and seen Britney open the door of the dressing room and seen me holding her while Pandora was silently crying.

Britney: is she okay?

Luke: she had a panic attack but she's going to be okay, she just needed a few minutes to calm down.

Britney: I'm sorry Panda bear, I didn't mean for you to get overwhelmed, I forgot you had panic attacks.

Luke: has this happened before?

Britney: yeah but she hasn't had one like this since she was in college which was when she was eighteen.

Luke: are you okay now buttercup?

I watched as she continued struggling to catch her breath and felt her rest her head on my chest while I kept holding her.

Britney: I will get Theo.

I softly rubbed her arm and listened to her breathing and noticed that it was returning to normal. I wasn't sure what brought it on but I wasn't going to let her go until she let me know that she was okay. I seen Theo sit down next to her as he rubbed her back.

Theodore: hey Andi, it's going to be okay don't focus on it.

I looked at her as she adjusted her head and laid against my chest again.

Britney: can I do something to help?

Theodore: it just needs to run it's course baby, she's going to be fine. Let's give her some space.

I watched as they left and closed the door to the dressing room so we could be alone.

Luke: I know this is overwhelming for you but you don't have to do this is if you don't want to. You can always tell her to find another maid of honor, she will understand why you can't do this for her.
