The school bus drives into its designated parking spot. The door sliding open to allow the kids off. Each of them clambered to get out of the small bus. Lucas is one of them. As the blond leaves the bus, wearing a blue puffy jacket and a red and yellow scarf around his neck, his friend wraps an arm around his neck. His friend is Ninten, a boy in a similar puffy outfit. "So, Lucas, what'd you get me for Secret Santa?" Lucas rolls his eyes.

"Should've never told you."

"Hehe, you betcha. Now tell me, I wanna know."

"It defeats the whole purpose if I tell you."

"Come onnnn! If I had you I'd tell you."

"I know, but I'm not you, and you're not me."

"What if I told you who got you?" Lucas turns to look at Ninten.

"What do you mean?"

"You know. I may or may not know who's your secret Santa?" Ninten says with a wink. Lucas just shakes his head.

"And if you do, don't tell me, I can wait an hour," Lucas says as he walks into the school, leaving Ninten outside.

"Come onnnn!!!" Ninten runs into the school and jumps in front of Lucas. "Is there anything I can do to convince you?"

"Get me a date with Ness and maybe we'll talk," Lucas walks off. Ninten knows of his crush on Ness. Ness and Lucas aren't strangers to one another. They have the same class and they talk on occasion. Lucas was never the type to be shy, thankfully. But whenever Ness is around that changes. He gets nervous, anxious, and antsy. Due to those things, he's never been able to really ask Ness out. And plus, he doesn't even know if Ness would be into him.

Ninten runs over to Lucas and snickers. "I'm on it!"

"W-wait, I was kidding—" It doesn't matter what Lucas says. Ninten is already breaking the rules of the school and begins running down the hall. "D-dammit." Lucas rubs his head a little out of annoyance. "Welp, there goes my chance. Might as well look for someone new..." He says softly as he resumes walking down the hall. His eyes gloss over the other students, bouncing around like crazy. None of them catches his eye like Ness. And he couldn't really explain why. There's just something special about Ness that truly gets to his heart.

Whatever the reason, he soon makes it to his first class. His teacher, Byleth, is already at his desk looking over at the gifts wrapped nicely. He turns around once he feels a presence around him. "Oh, Lucas, you're quite early."

"Well, my friend had something to do, so I thought I might as well." Lucas walks over to his seat and sits. He takes a calming sigh as he closes his eyes.

"Well, don't sneak up on these gifts while I'm out, I've got to grab something at the office."

"Yes sir," Lucas says. Not like he needs to be told that. As his eyes are closed he's able to hear the door open and close. Byleth clearly left. But then he hears it again. "Did you forget something, Sir?"

"I'm not that much older than you," a familiar voice says. Lucas opens his eyes to see Ness.

"N-Ness?"

"Hey, you're early."

"Yeah, y-you too." Ness smiles before walking over and taking the seat next to Lucas.

"Excited for Christmas Break?"

"You know it."

"Do you have any plans?"

"Oh, well, not really?" Lucas looks forward and rubs his wrist softly. "My brother and I, I guess, will just hang out and watch Home Alone or something."
