Hi there, just a fair warning with this one, I'm not overly confident with it. I wrote this during a huge writer's block, so it may not be that perfect. Hope you can find it to be a nice read anyway. Thank you!

Loud talks are a common place in the classroom before the class begins. So much so, Lucas, a college student, uses it as a bit of white noise to help him study before the class begins. He's a hard worker. He has the desire to do well, and as far as he's able to control, he will do amazingly.

Soon enough, the professor waltzes his way in and puts his bag on the table. The professor is a tall and confident man. He holds his hands behind his back as he clears his throat to get the attention of all the students. "Good morning class. I'm happy to see you all after such a break. But we're not going to waste any time." Lucas grows a small smile as the professor nearly instantly begins teaching. If it isn't obvious by the almost addictive smile plastered on his face, he loves learning. A true passion of his.

However, partway into the class, one of the doors in the back of the classroom opens up. Everyone turns their attention back to see Ness, the resident frat boy. Ness freezes up and gulps. "Uh, hello there!! Sorry for being late Professor." The professor just crosses his arms and huffs a little. His puffy blue hair nearly covers his eyes. Ness just chuckles nervously before making his way to his seat.

Despite the small interruption, the class resumes pretty smoothly from then on. Nothing of note transpires. And, as if the time rushes by, class is over. "Lucas, could you see me up here for a moment?" The professor asks. Lucas happily nods. He finishes packing his backpack and puts it on before making his way down the large classroom. The class is massive. It's also kind of slanted, with the professor being all the way at the bottom with layer upon layer of desks going up to the back of the class where the entrances are. The class almost looks like a long staircase.

"What do you need, Professor?" Lucas asks once he makes it to the bottom.

"Ness is a real issue, huh?" the Professor seems to say with an inflection in his voice, implying something.

"He is. But what does he have to do with me?"

"Well...you know how you want to become a teacher, correct?" The professor asks as he leans against his beefy desk. Lucas answers with a simple nod. "Well...from one teacher to a future one...I could use some help."

"You're...not implying what I think you're implying, are you?"

"Sadly...I am. Lucas, could you help me teach Ness. Maybe he'll learn better from one of his peers."

"Brilliant idea, Professor. Except for the fact I'm not one of his peers. I'm one pair of glasses away from being swirlied in the bathroom by him."

"I know, it's a tall order. But please." Lucas sighs as he leans against a student's desk and crosses his arms.

"If I'm going to risk my beautiful head of hair for you, I have to get something in return. This isn't a task I can do for fun."

"I'm well aware. If you do this for me. Even so much as an attempt. I'll happily give you some extra credit. Along with the fact that I'd happily be a reference for you."

"The professor of a university..." Lucas says silently to himself, thinking out loud. "What a fitting reference. Fine." He pushes himself off the desk. "I can try to tutor him."

"Thank you so much. You have no idea how much that'll help."

"Hopefully it does." With that, their conversion is over. Lucas walks back up through the classroom to leave. A new goal on his mind. Thinking about how in the world he'll be able to teach Ness when their professor isn't capable of getting through. He does know that it's possible he might receive teachings better from someone his own age.
