"Come on kiddo, it's time for bed," Lucas says as he holds a little boy's hand in his own. The boy looks like a mini him. The blonde hair, pale skin, and facial features. But he's got some brown eyes to set himself apart from his dad. It's all a coincidence as the boy is adopted. Lucas continues moving the kid to his bed.

"But dad, I'm not tired," the boy says. But against his very words, the boy yawns and rubs his eyes. A motion only made by the sleepiest of people. This causes Lucas to laugh as they stop at the bed. He crouches to be eye level with him.

"Think about it this way, ok?" He begins as he puts his hands on the boy's shoulders. "The faster you go to sleep, the faster we'll take you to Legoland." This causes the boy's brown eyes to beam like never before. He then jumps into the bed and quickly goes under the covers. Seeing this reaction, Lucas stands up with a laugh. "You're that excited eh?"

"Uh huh!!" The boy says happily. Lucas smiles before pulling a chair close by. He always reads his son a bedtime story. But he also knows that he's growing up quickly. Soon enough, he'll never want to read a story again. But for now, he's going to enjoy it. "So, what story would you like tonight?" The kid thinks for a moment before smiling.

"I wanna know how you met dad!" This causes a soft chuckle to escape Lucas. Instantly, he thinks back to how he met with his husband, and love of his life, Ness. Speaking of Ness, Lucas looks over at the door to the bedroom to see his head poking in. Ness simply winks with those perfect purple eyes of his before disappearing. An idea strikes Lucas.

"Sure thing. Buckle up, it's a fun story."

The Rogue and the Prince

Lucas sighs as he's carried in a carriage through the woods. He's not just sighing just from being bored. It's much more than that. Annoyance. Anger. Anger at the person he's riding with. It's not really anything against her, but he still can't help but feel this unending anger toward her. Which only boils whenever he looks at her.

And who is she? She's the princess of the neighboring kingdom. After slaying a dragon his father told him to marry her to further the bonds between the kingdoms. But this isn't his real father. Not at all. Lucas was taken away from his mom to be the king's son because his own son died. And after masquerading as the son, and taking on the dragon, he was just going to go back home to his mom. But the king had different plans.

"And I promise you, Lucas, if you stay with the princess, your mom will live the most prosperous life she could possibly ask for," The king speaks with a snobby voice. So high and mighty for the defeat of a dragon he had no real part in aside from sending him toward the dragon's lair.

"And if I refuse?"

"Well..." The king laughs as he puts a hand around Lucas's back. "How are you with funerals?" This is an obvious tell. One that could be a bluff, but knowing the king, it's not. Lucas just nods and off he goes, to meet who will become his bride.

"Ugh, this is taking too long!!" Ana complains. Lucas looks over at her. She's wearing a very exorbitant dress. Once more, he really shouldn't feel such boiling anger from looking at her. After all, she doesn't even know he's not a real prince. Much less have any kind of connection to royalty.

"It's a carriage ride, Ana, we can only go so fast." And as if on cue, the carriage is forced to stop due to some disturbance up ahead.

"Ugh!! Go deal with that, please," Ana orders Lucas. He can't help but allow his nose to twitch in annoyance.

"Whatever you say." Lucas opens the door and jumps out before unsheathing his sword. He steps aside to see ahead at what it is. He doesn't see much, simply a fallen tree. "What's the commotion?"
