That's right, a new oneshot. Now, I know it's been a while, and I'm here to explain a little, but that's sort of what this oneshot is about. All in all, I used to need to write. It was always a coping mechanism I had and it did amazingly. But as of late, I've found a new coping mechanism, so writing became less necessity. And with how my mind worked, if something wasn't a necessity, why do it?
I've been trying to work on that mindset, and thankfully, I've been getting through it pretty well I think. I've been needing to tell myself that it's ok for me to do things out of just wanting to do them, this includes writing. I no longer need to write, I simply want to write.
I hope you all like this. It's made me feel great writing again, especially writing it with the mindset I had a year ago. Hope you enjoy!!

"What!!" Ness stormed through the hall, still on the phone with one of his fellow Baseball players. He had just received word of someone leaving the Baseball team. His baseball passion fueled inside him and made him run all the way through the school to the Baseball field behind the school. There he saw everyone decked out in their outfits. He slid to a stop when his friend finally hung up the phone. "He left!?!" Ninten crossed his arms and nodded.
"Unfortunately, he felt like the team was dwindling in importance so he's going to that shit Football team," Ninten said, not really sad about losing him.
"That traitor!"
"Listen, Ness, he may have been a dick, but without him...we can't win the last match of the year," Toon Link said, with his bat resting against his shoulder.
"N-no, nonsense, we'll find someone new to take his spot."
"We don't need someone new, we need someone as good as he was," Ninten added. "He was our best batter, he basically guaranteed a few runs." Ness lowered his head with a somber sigh.
"I know..."
"Without that, we can't win against the All-Stars."
"Ugh, screw you, Playstation!" Ness kicked a rock away.
"I'm sorry Ness, I know how much Baseball means to you." Ninten put a hand on Ness's back, hoping to calm him down. He shook the hand off and walked away. However, before he got too far, he looked back.
"Don't disband, we should still put up our best effort against them." The team nodded their heads as Ness resumed walking away.
He walked for a long time, with a single destination in his mind, the Batting Cage. Despite how big the city was, there was only really one batting cage he knew of. He had to stop to get his bat and rush over, really hoping it wasn't occupied. And unfortunately for him, as he got closer to the cage, which was located within the Pikmin Playground, he heard noises of the ball shooter spitting the balls out. He groaned but continued. He wanted to see who was in it.
He got closer and when the person inside was visible, he was a little shocked to see him hitting ball after ball with complete precision. He knew just when to adjust himself, just the right amount of power, and the way the boy's deep blue eyes focused solely on the ball as it belted toward him was amazing. Even Ness had issues with seeing the ball come right to him, yet here this guy was doing it perfectly. He even slightly recognized him, he didn't know the boy, simply remembering seeing him around school.
Unknowingly, he leaned against the chained walls of the cage, making the boy jump and miss the ball. He turned around and gulped. "O-oh hello. I-I hope I'm not hogging the cage. I get carried away sometimes." Ness backed up a little and shook his head.
