Ava Sallow above
Ava's pov
"Avs," Sebastian's voice was the first thing I heard. I sat up in the uncomfortable hotel bed and rubbed my eyes.
"Hm?" I asked as I tried running my fingers through my curls. Only to have them get caught in knots.
"Dumbledore... he's looking for you," Sebastian walked over and picked up a brush before he began brush my hair gently. "You've been asleep for awhile. I was getting nervous."
"I thought I sensed our children doing something stupid... it made me tired." Sebastian chuckled as he finished and leaned down to kiss the top of my head.
"They probably are. And unfortunately they are adults, we can't do anything anyways... except cheer them on."
I stood up and stood on my toes to kiss his forehead. Sebastian smiled and held my face gently as we looked at each other.
"Professor! Oh sorry!" Cerus slammed the door shut as quickly as he opened it.
"It's fine, Cerus, you okay?" I asked as I reluctantly pulled away from my husband.
"It's Newt, he got the Qilin." He peaked in shyly.
"Good, another reason Dumbledore wants to talk to me," I smiled back at Sebastian but he was currently staring off confused. Almost as if he'd just remembered something. "My love?" I asked pulling him out of his thought.
"Huh? No nothing, let's go to Dumbledore." Sebastian quickly took my hand and led. Me to another room in the three broomsticks that was on the top level. As we entered Albus and his brother, Aberforth, stood with their arms crossed as they looked at Newt and his older brother, Theseus.
Theseus had never had me as a professor while as a student so I imagine the shock on his face when I entered the room was because last time he saw me I was a student who had left a few years ago.
"Ava La Fey?" He asked. His voice almost squeaking.
"Sallow," Sebastian growled a bit under his breath.
"Brother, that's Professor Ava Sallow, Eleazar's mother." Newt nudged his shoulder. This newt was a lot more social than the one I knew. I smiled at the two of them.
"Hello," I greeted everyone happily.
"Smiley as always, Professor." Aberforth said in a gruff.
"I'm excited. I hadn't been able to do this part of the adventure before. You're just as cheerful as you were as a student, Aberforth, I read in a muggle newspaper that smiling at least once a day will make your whole day better."
Aberforth fully turned around with his arms still crossed so he could stare me down. I simply smiled sweetly back at him. Albus coughed to hide a laugh as he tried to call attention back to him.
