TW: Little Impulse angst

3rd Person POV

Tango sets his book down, looking up at Impulse, "Hey Impy?"

"Yeah?" The Hermit looks down, his hand in Tango's hair pausing.

"What's a Voidling?"

"No clue, why?"

"My book on Phantoms mentions Voidlings, apparently they created Phantoms."

"Where did you even find that book?"

"Keralis gave it to me a few seasons back."

"Well maybe we should go ask him."

Tango smiles getting up and grabbing Impulse's hand, the two going to find Keralis.

"Keralis! Are you home?"

"Tango, Impulse! What's up?"

"I was reading this book you gave me on Phantoms and it was talking about a Voidling, what's a Voidling?"

The cup Keralis is holding falls to the ground, shattering.

"Dad?" Impulse goes over to him concern covering his face.

Tango sets the book down, grabbing a rag and broom.

"I'm ok, sorry, I haven't heard that name in a long time...."

Impulse makes the older sit down, "Are you sure you're ok?"

"I'm fine, do you remember the story I use to tell you at bedtime?"

"The one about the Void?"

"Mhm."

"Some of it but that's just a fairy tale."

Keralis sighs as Tango comes in, standing next to Impulse.

"Why don't you two sit down and I'll tell you the story."

The two share a glance but sit on the floor, Tango leaning against Impulse.

"Once Upon a Time...."

A Voidling was working on the expansions of his palace, feeling a little lonely. He was the last Voidling after all and no players ever came out this far into the void.

"Hello? Is anyone here?"

The Voidling looks around the corner confused, "Hello?"

"Oh hi, do you know where I am? I was looking for an end city but I think I went too far."

"A little more then too far, you're on the complete other side of the End, no one ever comes out here."

"Oh goodness, do you happen to know the way back?"

"Yes..." The Voidling studies the player, "Come inside, I'll grab the map."

The player looks around, admiring the castle as they walk, "Your home is very lovely."

"Thank you, don't mind the mess I wasn't expecting visitors."

"Oh no its fine, I'm use to messes."

"You wait here and I'll be back with that map."

They leave the player there who looks around taking in the giant building. The Voidling stops in the doorway when he comes back, a devious idea coming to his head when he sees the player sitting a top the second throne.

"You look at home up there."

"Oh sorry, I'll get up."

"Don't worry about it, no one uses that one."
