A Prince's Tale

3rd Person POV

"Mommy! Mommy! Look!"

The little Watcher runs up to the queen, raising the paper to show her.

"What do you have ᒷℸ ̣ ⍑𝙹?"

The queen takes the paper from the little white-haired boy, looking at the drawing of him and his mother.

"Aww baby it's amazing."

The boy smiles, hugging her leg, "I'm glad you like it mommy!"

"I love it, I'm going to hang it in my office."

"Yay!"

She smiles sadly, "Are you all ready for bed ᒷℸ ̣ ⍑𝙹?"

"Uhhh no, I was too busy drawing."

"Ok, let's go get ready for bed then."

"Ok!"

The young watcher follows the queen down the castle corridors, happily chatting as they walk. The queen helps him get ready for bed, tucking the young boy in.

"Good night my little ninja." She kisses the top of his head.

"Mommy, you have to read a story!"

"Oh of course, how silly of me."

"Silly mommy!" 

The boy gets comfy, hugging his glare plush close.

"You ready?"

"Mhm, hey mommy?"

"Yes ᒷℸ ̣ ⍑𝙹?"

"Do you think glares are still alive?"

"I'm not sure baby, they disappeared a long time ago."

"I hope I get to meet one, one day."

She smiles, brushing hair out of his face, "How about a story now?"

The boy nods, "Yes please."

"Once upon a time..."

A young Watcher steps into the forest clearing, smiling as a Listener emerges from the other side of the clearing.

"There's my beautiful flower."

She hugs him tightly, "You made it!"

"I told you I would dear."

"I love you, my prince."

"I love you too my princess."

The two stand there, enjoying the time together, no words needed to be said, just the comfort of the other person there was enough for them.

"Your mother is going to be furious when she finds out."

"You make it sound like I'm going to tell her."

"...You aren't telling her?"

"No," She looks up at him, "Are you crazy? She'd never let me leave the castle. She'd force us to break up."  

"She can't do that flower."

"Yes, she can, and she will, which is why I'm not telling her about us."

"She's going to have to know eventually, especially when I marry you."

The princess blushes, lightly hitting his chest, "You can't joke about that sort of stuff."
