3rd Person POV

Grian leans against Tango, flipping to the next page in his book.

"What are you reading?"

"War strategies."

"Interesting?"

"More like boring." He closes the book, setting it on his lap.

"Is there a reason you're reading it?"

"Just want to refresh the old brain."

"You seem bored."

"I'm content actually, its been awhile since we've done this."

"That's because you and Impulse have been running around like chickens with your heads cut off lately."

"You should see Scar, I've never seen him so clingy. I didn't think he was going to let me leave his train today."

"I know, I love Impulse but he's been very clingy. He's barely worked on his city lately."

"A lot has happened this season."

"And we're not even that far into the season yet."

Grian sighs, turning to burry his face in Tango's side.

"You don't seem 'content'."

"I'm just tired, I needed this break."

Tango pulls Grian close, making a small flame appear. The parrot looks at the flame, allowing his tired pesky brain to get distracted by the flickering light. The blaze runs a hand through the youngers feathers, his tail wrapping around the parrots waist.

"I've been thinking lately."

"That's dangerous."

"Ha ha, I've been thinking of where to put my mail box."

"Did you pick a spot?"

"I'm thinking of putting it down by the river, I have enough space in between the river and the horse stable. It would fit in perfectly there."

"I'll talk to Etho, and we can start getting it set up."

"Perfect." He gently reaches out, playing with the small flame.

"Careful, don't want to burn your hand."

"I won't, fire doesn't hurt as bad as Watcher fire."

"You shouldn't even know what that feels like."

"What can I say, I didn't exactly listen to them."

 "You don't listen to anyone."

"That is true."

"You look tired."

"You're making my brain all foggy with messing with my wings."

"Do you want me to stop?"

"No."

Tango smiles, "Do you want tea? You look like you could use it."

"Tea does sound nice."

"Stay here, I'll be right back."

Grian shakes his head a bit, getting comfortable on the couch while he waits.

"I only have peppermint, is that ok?"

"Sounds lovely."

"I'm thinking we put a movie on?"

"Only if I can pick."

"I suppose you can pick."

With a smile, the British boy searches for a movie while Tango finishes the tea. He sits back down, handing Grian the cup before pulling him close.

"You just relax, let me take care of you for a little bit."

"And who's going to take care of you?"

"I will."

"You deserve some attention, too."

"Do I now?"

"Mhm." He reaches up, running his hand through the blonde's hair.

With a small smirk, Tango gently starts preening the parrot's wings, watching the boy melt.

"You suck."

"I know, now relax, you need a break, and as your friend, I'm going to take care of you."

"It's not fair, I don't need to be taken care of."

The blaze's smirk grows as he watches Grian curl up against him.

"I know you don't, I want to take care of you. You're our pesky bird, have to make sure you're ok."

"Again I ask, what about you?"

"I have Zed and Impulse, I'll be fine."

"And I have Scar."

"You do yes."

"Tango! Are you home!"

The blaze sighs, "We should have gone to Etho's or Joel's. Upstairs Impulse!"

Grian laughs, leaning back against Tango.

"Thank goodness you're here! I- oh hi G."

"Hi Impulse."

"Is this a bad time?"

"No, what's up Impy?"

"I wanted to check on you, make sure you're ok."

Tango smiles at the phantom's concern, "I'm doing fine Impulse, just doing some selfcare with G."

"Oh, I'll let you two rest then, do you need anything?"

"I'm good, G? Do you need anything?"

"No, I'm ok."

Impulse nods, kissing the top of Tango's head, "Call if you need me."

"I will, now go bug Zed."

"Alright alright, hint taken."

Tango chuckles, leaning his head against Grian's and making another small flame appear in front of the parrot. The blaze gently takes the empty cup from him, setting it on the end table. A content silence falls over the two, a movie quietly humming in the background as Grian plays with the small flame. Tango smiles, preening the parrot's wings and carding a hand through the fluffy waffle.

Eventually the two fall asleep, Tango holding Grian close, the smaller curled into the blondes side. Thats how three Hermits find them, Scar laying a blanket over the two. Zedaph quietly coos, taking a picture. Impulse smiles, turning the tv off and placing the tea cup in the sink.

"Come on you two, we should let them sleep."

"But Impy, look at how cute they are."

"They need rest, come on Zed."

Impulse laces his hand with Zedaph's, leading the goat out of the house. Scar makes sure Grian is comfortable, kissing his forehead.

"Sleep well birdie."

With one last glance at the pair Scar leaves the room, flicking the light off on his way out. Shutting the front door of Tango's house Scar lets out a breath, heading to Magic Mountain to meet up with Mumbo and Joel.

No one knew how much time was left before Grian had to leave and Scar refused to sit by. Grian wasn't the only one with plans and Scar would do anything to help the parrot.
