Levi's P. O. V

As we locked eyes, a sudden surge of memories flooded my mind.

I subconsciously walked toward her. As I walked, I could sense her panic as she quickly grabbed her things and about to stand up.

Lucky for me, I held her hand in time. The touch made me feel something I wouldn't be able to translate to words, but that quickly came to an end when she abruptly took her hand from me.

"(Y/N), we need to talk." I blurted out, my voice tinged with a mix of beg and regret.

She didn't dare to look me in the eyes as she continued to walk.  I followed her like a stray dog asking for food. It led us outside the cafe.

She was again about to go, but this time, run, instead of walking away. I quickly grabbed her hips and pulled her closer to me.

I couldn't take it any longer, I hugged her tightly as if she'd magically disappear.

I held her close, my arms wrapping around her as tightly as I could manage. The flood of emotions I'd kept sealed for years threatened to burst open.

"Please, (Y/N), don't go. Just hear me out," I pleaded, my voice choked with emotions I couldn't contain. Tears welled up in my eyes, and before I knew it, they streamed down my face, soaking into her shoulder.

She stood stiff in my embrace, her body tense with a mix of surprise and uncertainty.

I could feel her hesitation, her struggle to process the sudden rush of emotions and my unexpected plea.

"I've missed you so much. I've carried this weight of regret and longing for years," I confessed between sobs, my voice uncertain with the weight of unresolved emotions.

For a moment, everything felt suspended in time. The bustling city life around us faded into the background, and it was just (Y/N) and me, locked in an embrace filled with years of unspoken words and buried feelings.

"I never meant to hurt you," I continued, my words trembling with regret.

"Everything was a mess, and I didn't handle it well. But I've never stopped thinking about you, about us."

(Y/N) remained silent, her silence speaking volumes, echoing the whirlwind of emotions that enveloped us both.

"I don't have all the answers, (Y/N), but I need to make things right. Please, talk to me. Let me explain," I pleaded, my grip on her tightening as if afraid she might slip away.

The weight of my confession hung heavy in the air, mingled with the vulnerability of my tears.

I waited with held back breath, hoping for a response or a glimmer of understanding or forgiveness in her eyes.

"Please... go away..." She said as she tried to slip away from me.

"No, no, no, please!" I said hugging her tighter than before, crying my heart out.

I sob hard on her neck.

"Let me go." she firmly said, trying to wiggle away from me again.

"No, never" I desperately said like a child in tantrums.

I held her face with both of my hands, careless of people who passed by.

"How are they? Our children-" I got cut off by my own sob.

"How are they, baby?" I said looking straight at her eyes, still crying as I put our foreheads together.

"Please tell me they're fine and well" I said beggingly as I mentally pray that they are fine.

Her breath hitched at my words, and in that instant, the gravity of the situation became much more heavy than it already is.

I could care less as we begin drawing curious glances from other patrons.

But in that moment, (Y/N) and I were caught in a world of our own, grappling with a truth that had remained buried for far too long.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

The mention of our children was like a sudden bolt of lightning, piercing through the carefully constructed reality I had hidden myself in.

It was a truth I had denied, a chapter of my life I had convinced myself was closed. But now, being so close to Levi, the weight of his words crashed upon me like an unstoppable storm.

"We don't have children," I insisted, the words leaving my lips in a rushed whisper. He can't. He'll take them away from me if he'd known.
