Suddenly, as we turned a corner, I caught sight of two familiar figures standing by one of the tanks.

My heart skipped a beat as I recognized who it was, their expression softening as they watched the fish swim by.

"What are you looking at, mom?" Liam asked.

"Mommy, who's that?" Luke asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hesitated, unsure of how to respond.
"Um, he's... he's an old friend, sweetheart" I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.
Liam tugged at my hand, his eyes wide with curiosity.
"Can we go say hi, Mommy?" he asked eagerly.
I bit my lip, feeling a surge of anxiety wash over me. Seeing Levi brought back a flood of memories and emotions, and I wasn't sure I was ready to face them.
"Why are they holding hands, Mommy?" Luke asked innocently.
The question pierced through me like a knife, digging up memories and emotions I had long buried.
I had known Hanji and Levi for years, had fought alongside them in battles against titans, and had shared moments of success and loss. But this... this felt different.
"I... I don't know, Luke" I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Sometimes... adults do things that are hard to understand."
As we watched from a distance, Hanji and Levi seemed lost in their own world, unaware of the chaos their presence was causing within me.
"What are they doing here?" I whispered to myself, my mind racing with possibilities and fears.
"Mommy, let's go say hi?" Luke asked eagerly for the second time.
I hesitated, torn between the desire to confront them and the fear of what I might uncover. But before I could respond, Levi turned and caught sight of us, his eyes widening in surprise.
"(Y/N)..." Levi trailed quietly, but I can hear it as if  he's shouting, his voice sending a shiver down my spine.
"Levi..." I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.
I saw them walking towards us, still hand in hand, it felt like the world slows down.
At this time, I let my instinct control me, to run away... I tried hard to get through the crowd while having two kids at my hands but someone grabbed my shoulder.
"Levi..." I said as my eyes started forming tears.
The tension between us was overwhelming. I wanted to ask him why he was here with Hanji, what it meant for us, but the words caught in my throat, suffocated by the weight of my fears.
Levi snatched both of my shoulders and started shaking it "Who are they?!" he shouted right into my face.
I looked at him in disbelief, still not able to form words "You told them they were gone! I spent 5 years blaming myself for everything-"
"As you should! It's all your fault!! all yours!!" I interrupted him, finally being able to let out words.
Hanji was quick to embrace Liam and Luke, she hold Levi at his shoulder and said calmly,
"Talk this out nicely, there's kids watching. Levi, don't act based merely on your anger, you might regret this again" after she said that, she looked at me with teary eyes and snatched me from Levi and hugged me as if I'm gonna run away.
I can hear her sniff the tears away "This is too much, but I am grateful that you're alive"
I can't help but hug her too "H-Hanji..." The feeling of betrayal that I felt earlier seems to disappear.
"Let's find a quieter place to talk," Hanji suggested, her voice gentle but determined.
We moved away from the bustling crowd, finding a quieter place outside the aquarium,  we went to the parking lot where their car is located.
"Are you okay mommy? don't cry" Luke said to me wiping my tears as soon as I crouched down to his level.
Liam glared at Levi and started kicking him "You're bad! Don't go near my mama!"
I hold Liam, glancing at Levi, I can see how hurt he is, I am mad at him but the thought of our sons being mad at him just isn't right for me.
"B-babies.. my babies" I said hugging them.
"Stop crying mommy" Liam said as he started to cry too.
"Shhh stop crying, mommy will stop okay? get inside the car first, we will have a grown up talk okay?"
As soon as the car closed my glare bore into Levi, and I knew that this conversation wouldn't be easy.
The wounds of the past, the secrets, and the pain. All of it hung in the air, waiting to be addressed.
"(Y/N), why didn't you tell me?" Levi's voice was low and hurt.
I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the truth pressing down on me. "All I did was to protect them Levi" I said rightfully.
"Protect?-"
"Yes! This is why! Your actions!" I  cut him off.
"You physically harmed me. In front of MY kids!! and I know you! You'll try to take them away from me!"
"Why would you think that?" he said, clearly hurt.
"(Y/N), I... I thought they were gone. I thought I had lost them."
MY eyes narrowed, the truth sinking in. "it was the only way to protect them from you, Levi."
