Fitz's POV

Sophie's an amazing girl. I don't know why but every time I was around her or with her, I would always get so nervous or my heart would always start racing.

Although she takes me too seriously. Is that because I'm too serious?

"I want to get to know you more." I said.

"Things like what?" She asked.

"What are some hobbies you enjoy?"

"I love reading and taking care of pets." Of course she did. She has a kind heart, just like many years ago...

~FLASHBACK~

I walked around the park taking a seat on one of the benches.

I noticed a blonde by a tree, and she was crouching down. I walked over to her to see if everything was alright.

"Excuse me? Is everything alright?" The blonde turned around to show the prettiest girl I had ever come across. She smiled.

"Yeah, I found a baby bird next to this tree, chirping for help. And it turns out he broke his wing. I'm going to take him to a vet."

"Oh, well, carry him in my hat. I'm sure you wouldn't want to carry him the whole way there." I took my hat off and gave it to her.

"Thank you." I nod. She carefully picked up the baby bird and placed him in the hat. "Well I should probably go take him. Thanks for helping."

"It was nothing, I hope his wing gets fixed." She smiled and picked up the hat and made her way out the park.

I hadn't caught her name. I wanted to ask her but I thought it would be a bit embarrassing. So I stayed there looking at the blonde walk away until she disappeared from my sight.

I continued going back to the park in case she returned. But she never did.

3 years later

I looked through the applications, opening Sophie Foster's file. I took a look at her photo. She looked exactly like the girl from the park. And that night she received an email saying she got the job. It was fate for us to be together. It couldn't be just a coincidence we were stuck in a situation like this after meeting a couple years ago. Last time she slipped away from my fingers. But now, I had her, and I wasn't going to let go.

(Not in a creepy way tho)

~FLASHBACK OVER~

"What about you?" She asked.

"I love reading too, but I also love cooking. I think I'm pretty good at it, and I enjoy it. I'm also kind of a neat freak. I mean you've seen my office." She laughed.

"Me too, I'll freak out if a single object is out of place." We stayed silent for a while.

"So do you have any pets?" I ask. She shook her head.

"I wish, but my apartment building doesn't allow pets of any sort. What about you?"

"I have a dog, so I guess you could understand why I always have to have everything clean and organized." She nodded.

"I understand. I love dogs, what breed is it?"

"She's a goldendoodle and she's 7 months old. Her name is Lilia."

"That's an adorable name. She sounds so cute."

"She is, I love her a lot." A smile stayed on her face as she looked out the window.

"Ms. Foster?"

"Yes?"

"What do people at work think of me?"

"What do you mean sir?"

"I mean, what type of, I'm not sure how to say it, but vibe do I send off?" She looked at her lap.

"A lot of the girls think you're attractive." She said bluntly. Her cheeks turned red at that.

"Including you?"

"No... yes... maybe?" She stuttered. "Anyways moving on, a lot of other people think of you as the serious type and someone you wouldn't want to get in trouble with."

"So people fear me?"

"To phrase it differently, everyone just doesn't want to get in trouble if they do something wrong."

"Could you tell me what you think of me?" Her cheeks turned red even more. Maybe I was pushing the limit.

"Don't answer that. I can tell you're uncomfortable, I shouldn't have asked you that."

"No, I'm sorry, I'm making this whole situation awkward." I shook my head.

"No you're not. I shouldn't have asked you, it's a weird and uncomfortable question." I say.

"I think that you're really sweet, and kind. Although just a few days ago I thought you were a bit stiff and serious, once a person gets to know you, they'll just find out that you're a sweet, kind, heartwarming guy."

"You really think so?"

"Yeah, I mean you were just telling me how much you enjoy cooking, cleaning, and your dog. When you were talking about her, you can clearly tell that she's being taken care of well and that her owner loves her very much. You had given your hoodie because my shirt got messed up, you got me a cup of tea earlier this morning, and you're taking me out for lunch. I'd say that's a pretty nice thing to do for someone."

(This is very cheesy, I apologize.)

Sophie's POV

"Thank you for telling me that. I just need someone else's input about me. I always feel like I'm being too serious with everyone."

I know it was a risky move but I leaned over and hugged him. I knew he needed a hug, because I know how he felt. All my life I've always cared about everyone else's opinion about me. I was always alone, that one nerd in the back of the class that never got her first kiss, and only cared about her studies. I would always hear everyone talking about me and decided to not even try to make friends. Because it would be no use. It never mattered how I felt about myself, but only how others thought of me.

We heard a honk from behind us and quickly broke apart. Our cheeks were as red as tomatoes.

It was weird. I was talking to Fitz as if he was my best friend. I felt very relaxed when I was talking with him and I had purely forgotten that he was my boss.

"Thank you Ms. Foster."

"For what sir?"

"Telling me about how I act in the workspace. I appreciate it. And by the way, about what happened in the cafeteria, did Stacy do it on purpose? If she did, then I can talk to her."

"No, no, I'm sure that's not necessary, it was just a harmless mistake."

"You're sure?"

"Yes sir."

"All right then."
