Fitz's POV
I heard a knock on the door, opening it up to find Keefe.
"Fitzy, it's been so long." He said, entering the apartment, walking over to the couch. Lilia had immediately followed him, sitting on his lap.
"What Keefe?"
"Is this how you greet your best friend that you haven't seen in ages?" He asked.
"Fine then how are you doing?" I asked, taking a seat next to him. He over exaggeratedly placed his hand on his heart.
"That was so sweet of you to ask Fitzy." I rolled my eyes at the nickname, "I'm doing fine. How are you? Saw the press conference. I didn't know Sophie was that hot." I roll my eyes. "How did she fall for a nerd like you?"
"I'm not a nerd."
"Sure. Only doing work all day and reading books. Sounds like a nerd to me." He said.
"Whatever. Anyways I'm doing fine. Sophie and I have a good relationship right now."
"That's good. So when are you popping the ring?" He asked, raising his eyebrows with a grin on his face.
"Not for a while Keefe. Sophie and I have only been dating for a month, I don't want to scare her with anything big yet." He shrugged his shoulders.
"With a girl like that you gotta act fast."
"I know, but later." I responded.
"Alright, describe the best way and place to propose." He said. "I'll say mine first. A beach proposal. I mean me on the beach with my blonde hair and my tan body, what's not to die for? She would melt if my tan body went on one knee to propose."
"Step 1 is to get a girlfriend first. Then you can start imagining the tan body and melting part of it."
"A guy can dream. What about you?"
"Sophie deserves only the best, so I'd say actually the same thing as you, except the blonde hair, melting, and tan body part. But we had a picnic on the beach, it's evening, and the sky is a beautiful mix of purple and blue. Rose petals are scattered across the sand and then I take her to the water, we're not wet and then I propose." He grimaced.
"That sounded so sappy. Try harder next time." I roll my eyes.
"Whatever you say, I think that it's a romantic proposal, but I know Sophie deserves much better. So I'll try harder, but then again it won't be for a good few years."
We continued to talk for a few hours until he had to leave. Having Keefe as a best friend is sometimes great but then really annoying. I decided to go to Sophie, just because I was bored and I hadn't talked to her in a while, other than work.
I decided to get her flowers along the way to her apartment and I soon knocked on her door.
She opened the door smiling when she saw me. She gave me a small hug, and once we broke apart I handed the flowers to her.
"Thank you, but why did you get them for me?" She asked.
"Because you're my girlfriend and I love you." She smiled, kissing my cheek, taking the bouquet from my hands, letting me in. She immediately put them in a glass and joined me on the sofa.
"Sophie, I wanted to ask you, when can I ever meet your parents?" I ask her.
"Is there a reason why you want to?"
"I want to take it further in our relationship. We're already past the 'I love you' stage and we kind of skipped meeting the parents." I say.
"Yeah, I've told them a lot about you and they've been wanting to meet you too." I smile.
"Really?" She nodded.
"Yup. And I can't wait to meet your parents."
"They'll love you. Anyone I love, they'll love too." She smiled, kissing me. I kissed her back like there was no tomorrow. I pulled her to my lap, earning a small squeak of surprise from her, wrapping a protective arm around her waist, bringing her closer to my chest, and my other hand was placed on her cheek.
We didn't break apart for a while, panting for air. Her cheeks were red and kissed my cheek. I smiled softly and kissed her temple.
"Soph, you've talked about how you want to have a future with me right? And I was wondering, what's your dream proposal?"
"I've never really thought about it. I guess I would just want to be proposed to in some place private with a beautiful view with only the two of us." It was quite simplistic but Sophie never needs something big. With her, simple is the way to go.
"Let's read a book together," she suggested, leaving my arms to go to her bedroom to grab a book. She soon came back, handing me a book sitting in between my legs, her back resting on my chest. I opened the book to the first page once we were comfortable and I started to read aloud. Sophie listened silently, frequently placing small kisses on my jaw and cheek, causing me to stumble across my words. I mumbled an incoherent apology every time, my cheeks somehow turning a darker shade of red.
"Just continue reading." She whispered softly, playing with my hair. My heart was racing at her actions and I was blushing like crazy, but I didn't want her to stop. The touch of her delicate fingers and lips made me want to throw the book across the room and capture Sophie in a never ending kiss.
I forgot I was even reading, I was just reading the words with no understanding while Sophie continued to play with my hair and place delicate kisses on my jaw, cheek, and now neck.
"Fitz, can we put away the book and do something else?" She asked, a sly grin reaching to her face. I immediately closed the book and set it on her coffee table, wrapping my arms around her.
"And what did you have in mind?" I ask, smirking.
"Mallowmelt." My smirk quickly faded at her answer.
"Seriously? That's not what I had been thinking." I say, kissing her shoulder, slowly going up to her neck, her jaw, cheek, and then forehead. She blushed, her hands going up to my shoulders.
"If we make Mallowmelt, maybe we can involve a bit of kissing as well." I was now alerted and took her hand bringing her in the kitchen with me, earning a few laughs from her.
We started to make the Mallowmelt, making a big mess along the way, and I had tried to steal as many surprise kisses as I could.
We shared many laughs in the kitchen, slowly making the Mallowmelt along the way. Once the Mallowmelt was in the oven, I pulled her to my chest, wrapping my arms around her waist, gently placing my lips onto hers, ending off the wonderful night with a kiss.
