Business Partners (Sophitz)

Chapter 26

We were heading back home, after spending a wonderful three days in Paris. We took several pictures, ate a lot of food, and had a wonderful time.

And he proposed, which was the best part.

We were playing a game together before a loud voice interrupted it.

"May the passengers please put on their seatbelts as we start to begin landing?" Fitz and I both moved to the seats and buckled our seat belts and soon we could slowly feel the jet start to dip a little.

And soon we landed. After a few minutes we started to get off the jet with our stuff. We made it past the airport and such and a car pulled up. Fitz started out our luggage in the back and we went into the back. It was a bit later in the morning, 9:30 am and Fitz and I sat hand in hand. I was tired, with not getting enough sleep on the trip here. I liked the ring and I knew I was definitely going to get a bunch of questions when we get back to work.

Fitz had soon dropped me off to unpack and such, giving me a kiss and offering to help; however I declined. I made it to my apartment and started unpack not surprised when I was crashed onto my bed by another person.

"Sophie you're back! You have so much to tell! You didn't say anything over the phone." It hadn't took her much time to see the ring on my finger. "He proposed!! I knew it! Now Dex owes me 20 dollars!"

"How did you know, and why did you bet on it?"

"Well, if I already knew I was right, I may as well make some money out of it." I roll my eyes at Linh. "Let me see." She grabbed my left hand and gasped at the ring.

"That's so pretty. Fitz knows his rings."

"And guess what. He proposed in the most romantic place, guess where."

"Sunset carriage ride?" I shook my head, "on a bridge in the sunset?" I shook my head again and she groaned. "Just tell me!"

"He proposed to me on the top of the Eiffel Tower." Her jaw dropped.

"No way." I nodded my head. "That must've been so romantic!"

"It was. He had treated me to a small private dinner which was my favorite food and then he led me over near the edge of the tower and we stared at the stars for a while before he did it."

"You're going to get married. Wow!"

"I know, I'm actually still processing it. But I have no doubts about it. I already know that I want to spend the rest of my life with him. I love him so much. And the proposal was so sweet. Everything about the trip was amazing."

"Ugh stop making me feel jealous. Now show me the pictures!" I pulled out my phone and let her scroll through the pictures while I started unpacking my stuff.

"And apparently Fitz can speak French. I already knew he could but I didn't know he could speak it so fluently."

"Ooooh he speaks one of the love languages, I'm sure it was music to your ears." I giggle.

"It was." We continued to tell each other what happened over the three days we hadn't seen each other. I saw Linh then grab her phone and go to Dex's contact wrote with all capitalized letters:

Linh: I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!

After she sent the message, Dex was already writing a response.

Dex: To what?

Linh wrote a few more things explaining how Fitz ended up proposing on the trip, and no surprise my phone started to ring.

"Hey Dex!"

"Hey Sophie! Linh told me Fitz had proposed?" He asked from the other side.

"Yeah, it was amazing. I loved everything about the trip." I answered.

"That's good. When we meet up again, tell me all about it." I laugh.

"I will, bye ."

"Bye." I hung up, and placed my phone on my bedside table.

"Well I have brunch plans with Tam, bye Sophie!"

"Have fun!" She waved before she headed out of the apartment and almost immediately, Fitz started to call me.

"Hey Fitz."

"Hello sweetheart, how are you?"

"Good, I'm tired though, I didn't get much sleep on the trip."

"Me too, but Paris was absolutely amazing. I can't believe I'll be able to call you my wife in a few months. And that reminds me, we should start planning for the wedding."

"Yeah, that sounds great. Can we meet up later? Linh's out so I'm already bored." Fitz chuckled from the other side.

"Sounds good, does 2pm work?"

"Yeah, I'll see you then." I hung up the phone and put it away. I laid in silence, my eyelids becoming heavy for me to keep open, and soon I had fallen asleep.
