Sophie's POV

"No I don't! He's too serious and so stiff." Linh raised an eyebrow.

"You mean just like you?"

"No I'm not." She raised an eyebrow.

"How many nights have you turned down to have fun and go out, so you can work?"

"That's different."

"How?"

"Because, work is work. I can't go out and have fun without having all my assignments finished and done. And I'm not stiff either."

"You're antisocial and barely open up to people."

"What do you mean? I'm very social, and I open up to people quick."

"Name one friend you have at work?"

"Andrew."

"Doesn't count." I stayed in silence.

"I don't need to make friends everywhere I go." Linh rolled her eyes.

"I'm just saying, you guys would be perfect for each other." Linh said in a sing-songy voice.

"Oh please, like he would ever like me. That's ridiculous."

"So you're saying you like him, but just don't want to tell him because you think he doesn't like you?"

"Stop rearranging my words! That's not what I meant." Linh smirked.

"Sure."

(Time Skip)

I took a cab and decided to head to work early. When I was walking to my office I walked by Fitz's office, finding the door open. He was looking at a couple papers and he pulled his head up, looking at me.

I quickly walked past and got situated at my desk. It felt nice to be alone, with no talking in the background. I started working and I laid back, sighing. I looked at the computer and then at the files. After a few minutes of that, I saw Fitz place a cup beside me.

"I got you tea." He said.

"Thank you, but you didn't have too."

"I went to get myself something and wanted to bring you back something as well." He smiled, blushing.

"Thank you again, Mr. Vacker. I'll have to return the favor back sometime."

"There's no reason to, Ms. Foster. Thank you." I wanted to say something but then he just left. Maybe he's not so serious all the time. What he did for me was really nice and totally out of the blue.

After that I slowly noticed everyone coming in. Afterwards, I checked the time and it read 12 which meant it was time for our lunch break. Everyone started heading towards the cafeteria and Andrew walked up to me, holding my hand.

"Why did you arrive at work early?" I shrug.

"I wanted to."

"Are you sure it had nothing to do with what happened yesterday?" I nodded. We got our food and took a seat. I stood up to grab napkins and then bumped into Stacy. Her food and drink had smeared all over my white shirt.

"Oh my god Sophie, I'm so sorry!" Instead of grabbing tissues or napkins, she went down, started grabbing the plates that had fallen and put them on the tray. I pushed through everyone and went to get my own. Everyone's eyes were on me as I left the cafeteria. Not even Andrew came to follow me, instead I glanced back and found him helping Stacy.

Not even my own boyfriend wanted to help. I was rushing to the bathrooms and had bumped into a tall man. Before falling, I felt strong arms wrap around me. I looked up to see Fitz. Our cheeks turned red, and he cleared his throat, helping me up.

He looked at my shirt, and then back to my eyes.

"What happened?"

"I had bumped into someone and their food went everywhere." I answered.

"I think I can help. Come with me." He grabbed my hand and took me to his office.

"I have a couple shirts if you'd like, although they might be big. If you don't want that, I have a couple sweaters or hoodies you can wear."

"Could I try a hoodie?" He nodded, pulling a gray hoodie from a drawer.

"Here you go, if you need anything else just ask." I nodded.

"Thank you very much. And I'll return it as soon as possible."

"No, please keep it. Afterwards, would you like to join me for lunch?" I'm sure Andrew wouldn't miss me. And I'm sure I would have more fun with Fitz than with Andrew and Stacy.

"I would love to." I left the office and got changed, taking off the shirt and putting on the hoodie. I put the shirt in my bag and knocked on Fitz's door.

"Come in." I entered the  room and he looked up from his piece of paper.

"Is it too big? Because I think I might have a smaller size if you'd like."

"Oh no, this is perfect, thank you, I don't know what I would've done without your help." He smiled, taking off his glasses.

I've just now actually noticed his facial features. His teal eyes were the most mesmerizing. I don't know why I hadn't noticed them before. Linh was right. He was attractive. His hair looked fluffy but was held back with gel. He was tall and you could see his muscles through the fabric whenever he moved, his eyes were so pretty I could get lost in them for hours, and even though he didn't do it often, his smile was so heartwarming and cute.

"Let's go." We made our way out of the building and headed to his car, which was a 2024 Maserati GranTurismo, an expensive car.

We got settled in the car and he made his way out of the garage.
