"Tuck, are you ready to go to your dad's house" Miranda walked into her son's room. He was jumping on the bed excitement beaming from his face.

"Tuck bud really" She put her hand on her hip

"I'm just really really really really excited Mommy" He hopped to the ground

"That was a lot of really in that sentence, but bud I need you to be ready before you can think about going to his house" She laughed and helped him back some more things like his favorite stuffed animal. After he was all set he sat in the living room watching cartoons while he waited for his dad. Miranda showered and got dressed herself. This was a fancier date so she had on a sleek burgundy dress and heels. She brushed her hair and curled it. Applied makeup and kept checking her watch wondering when Tucker was going to show up.

"Mommy is pretty" Tuck smiled seeing his mom

"Thank you baby" She kissed his cheek and wiped away the lipstick she left.

She called Tucker about 3 times before he answered and apologized for his tardiness but swore he was on his way. She texted Ben and let him know the situation. He was understanding and pushed the time of their date back.

Once she saw Tucker's truck she almost kicked Tuck out the door. She adores her son but she also enjoyed the time she had where she could just be Miranda. Not mommy. Not Dr.Bailey. Just Miranda.

"Plans" Tucker raised his eyebrow at her

"Any of your business" She sassed him

"Still sassy Mandy I see" He chuckled while putting his son's stuff inside before helping him into his booster seat.

"Still annoying Tucker I see" She rolled her eyes

"This man met my son" He asked

"Tucker I'm not doing this with you" She waved him off "Take OUR son and enjoy your weekend"

He wanted to say something. He opened his mouth and closed it. They stood in silence for a moment and she stared him down. He eventually walked around to the driver's side and got in his truck. "Well have fun Mandy, not too much though. You are still a mom"

"My night isn't your business Mr.Jones now go" She walked away to her car. She knew he watched her walk away. She felt his eyes. It is a belief held by some that humans can detect when someone is staring at them even if that person was behind them. And Miranda knew if she turned around Tucker Jones was staring at her. His eyes studied her movements and his mind filled with thoughts a man probably shouldn't have about his ex-wife. He sighed and drove off. Finally, Miranda could get to her date. She drove to Ben's hotel and let him know she would be arriving soon.

She walked into the hotel restaurant and smiled when she saw Ben sitting by the window. She walked over and joined him. The waitress took their order and they sat at the table excited to spend the evening together

"How was your day" He smiled

"It was another day as a surgeon, yours"

"Spent the day with my family. My father and my sister" He smiled

"How was that"

"It was delightful. I may have mentioned you to them"

"You brought me up to your family" She sipped her wine hiding her blush. Truthfully she had told her mother about him as well. Her mother was happy her daughter was taking a chance to open herself up to love again. Everything her daughter did brought her great joy. She was so proud of her Mandy.

"I did, I hope that doesn't freak you out but I'm super close to my sister and I tell her everything" He sipped his wine trying to hide his nervousness
