Another week went by of Callie annoying her about being pregnant. She wanted to bring it up to Ben but was nervous, so she didn't mention it any time they talked. Their relationship was going so well that she was afraid to ruin them.
Miranda was taking a nap in an on-call room. When someone barged in and flopped on the bed she was sleeping on. She groaned seeing who it was.
"Calliope Iphegenia Torres, why are you disturbing my sleep"
"Because I am your best friend" She smiled "and because you still haven't gotten your blood work"
"Callie, will you drop it? I am not pregnant" Miranda sighed
"I have never seen you sleep in here. Not even during residency"
"Yeah and you spent a lot of time in here during residency"
"That's just the hormones so I'll let it slide"
"Why are you in here" Miranda put her hands on her face. Maybe if she closed her eyes and prayed hard enough Callie would disappear
"Because my best friend feels sick and may need these" She reached in her pocket and handed Miranda some ginger candies "and I'm going to lay down with you"
"Callie get away from me"
"Just scoot over and I'll lay next to you" Callie climbed over Miranda but Miranda was trying to prevent her so Callie ended up just hovering over her with Miranda's hands on her hips
Suddenly the door swung open and they looked up at Richard.
"Oh I umm" He had assumed he had walked in on Callie and Arizona but he took a closer look in the dimly lit room "Bailey"
Miranda rolled her eyes. All she wanted to do was sleep and now she's entangled with Callie in an on-call room with Richard Webber staring at them "Sir"
"Am I uh interrupting" He cleared his throat
"There's nothing to interrupt, I was taking a nap" She pushed Callie off of her
"And you see I was going to lay next to her and help her sleep but then she wouldn't move and so we got a bit stuck and then you walked in and yeah" Callie started rambling
"Shut up" Miranda elbowed her
"Callie" Mark walked in "Richard, Bailey"
"This nap has officially been ruined"
"Did I miss something in here" Mark laughed
"Well I'm being paged" Callie got up
"As am I" Miranda got up
As they walked past Richard and Mark the two men stared at each other.
"Sir" Mark smiled and laid down on a bunk "If you wanted to join so sorry but I prefer my naps alone or with female company"
"Sloan" Richard groaned and walked away
Miranda walked to the NICU where she was paged.
"What we got" She asked
"Just wanted you to see this" Arizona smiled at the preemie she was evaluating
"I am a pediatric surgeon, Arizona or did you forget? I see babies and children all day"
"Baby Alden here has gained 2 whole pounds" Arizona chuckled putting her stethoscope back around her neck. They had been monitoring him for weeks now and Arizona wanted Miranda to admire her handiwork.
"He did" Miranda walked over and looked at the baby. Before she knew it her heart swelled with emotion and she began crying.
"Okayy I see what Calliope means" Arizona slowly nodded
