"Hey there I'm Dr.Warren, that's a pretty gnarly cut there, how'd that happen" Ben smiled at his patient. He was doing stitches on a check lac in the ER

"I'll tell you" His patient's wife showed him her ring. It was a lovely ring with a huge central diamond and diamonds across the band

"Oh uhh" Ben cleared his throat "So your ring did this"

"You married Dr.Warren" The patient asked

"No, but I have a girlfriend"

"Don't get married" The patient groaned

"What are you trying to say, you regret marrying me" His wife crossed her arms

"No babe I didn't say that. We were fine. Then we got married. Now everything goes wrong. Breakfast dates, lunch dates, dinner dates, trying to watch movies, simple conversations, forget about a sex life"

"Oh okay, how about we stop talking so I can stitch you up" Ben chuckled as he finished up with his patient and then went to the cafeteria to eat. He saw some of his buddies from the hospital making their way towards him

"Warren" Dr.Steven Hewitt sat down

"God, my aches and pains have aches and pains" Dr. Chester Moore sat down

"We need a party" Dr. Harold Houston sat down

"Warren, my man what you doing tonight" Chester asked

"Oh no you idiots can not come over" Ben shook his head

"Please Ben" Harold begged

"We know that you probably have phone sex or whatever planned with M I R A N D A but dude we're your boys. Intern year. Residency. Fellowships we saw each other through it all and tomorrow we all have off so tonight we should party to our heart's content" Steven laughed

"Seriously" Ben looked at him

"Ben come on don't you want to drink a few beers with the boys" Harold asked

"Okay fine" Ben sighed

"Yes" They all high-fived. These guys were total frat boys and he wondered how they even became doctors in the first place.

"What's the party over here about" Another person from Ben's intern class walked over. Dr. Claudia Henton

"Claudie, we're drinking at Ben's coming" Steven asked

"Of course" She smiled "If I can bring a friend"

"Don't say that one nurse friend of yours" Chester groaned

"Chess come on" Claudia crossed her arms "She's not that bad"

"She is awful Claudie" Ben laughed

"You too Ben" She sighed "That's my cousin"

"Go ahead Claudie bring her" Ben finished up his lunch and got up from the table

"You guys are the worst but we'll be there" She smiled and walked away

"May need more than some beers to deal with Meanie Melanie" Harold laughed

"I'll catch you frat boys later" Ben walked away. He went about his day. Ben had been trying to get up with Miranda throughout his day but felt she was avoiding him. He sent text after text but he was greeted with one-word responses. He wondered if he had done something wrong. They had talked about visiting one another but their schedules never seemed to line up. Was she resenting him for that? As he arrived at his place he straightened up a bit in preparation. Soon his friends were arriving
