"I'm so excited about this" Miranda smiled as they took their seats on the plane

"I'm more nervous than anything" Ben chuckled looking over the notes in his hand

"Ben you know your work. Why do you keep looking over those notes" Miranda put her hand on his

"Because I pretty much forgot about all of this work" He sighed

"You are a surgeon Ben. I doubt you could completely forget about your technique" She shook her head

"You have no idea what has been going on in my head since this work. My life has done a complete 180. I did this as a single man, only focused on my work. Steven and I dedicated hours to this research. Then suddenly I became a father and my priorities had to shift. Then I'm leaving LA for Seattle. I had to go back to anesthesiology instead of surgery, then I'm back in surgery and slowly as my life changed robotic surgery was forgotten about" He stared intently at his notes "Just let me focus"

"Sorry I ruined your life" She mumbled
Ben ignored her comment and her obvious frustration. He was too caught up in his head. Truthfully he didn't even hear her. He was worrying about presenting this research and he was worrying about his proposal. He just read his notes over and over as the plane took off. He practically ignored her the entire flight but that was okay with her because she didn't want to talk to him anyway while he was acting like this. When their flight landed he tried to hold her hand in the airport but she snatched it away from him. He wondered what her issue was. Ben got their luggage and they walked towards the exit.

"Ben" Steven smiled when he saw them walking out of the airport

"Hey man" Ben hugged him

"Bailey, darling" Steven smiled

"Hello Steven" She smiled back

"Ready to go talk about our baby" Steven helped Ben out their bags in his truck

"Wait I can't even get a nap in the hotel first" Ben looked at him

"We are presenting today with some college students" He smiled "It's for my girlfriend man"

"I'm tired Steven and we have the conference tomorrow" Ben sighed

"Please don't disrupt his schedule" Miranda mumbled getting in the truck

"What the hell did you do" Steven shoved him

"Hey man what the hell" Ben grabbed Steven's shirt but quickly let him go to not make a scene.

"Why is she upset? This is supposed to be your proposal trip and she's upset" Steven whispered

"I didn't do anything man" He waved Steven off "I've been reading my notes the entire time"

"You did something. I know that tone and that look from when I pissed her off. You did something. Think about it on the way to the college" Steven hopped in his truck. Ben shook his head and got in too. He leaned his head against the window. What could he have done to her? Steven was right. He was proposing within these 3 days and he couldn't have her being mad at him. He thought about their conversation that had in the apartment. Nothing there would have made her upset. He thought about their conversation in the taxi. Nothing there either. He found himself zoning out while thinking.

"Warren hey Warren earth to Dr. Benjamin Warren" Steven snapped his fingers

"What" He replied annoyed

"Get the stick outta your ass doctor. We're here" Steven got out of the truck. Then he helped Miranda out. They walked with each other to the door as Ben trailed behind
