OMG! Its official. Teen no more ang peg ko. Last year, kaya pang dayain na twenteen eh, pero pano ko ipipilit ang TWENTEEN ONE, SIR?
Its my birthday and its also one of the happiest I had my entire life. A double celebration of my birthday and father's day for Papa. We drove our way to Antipolo to celebrate my birthday-slash-father's day-slash-family bonding. We went to the church first to say our thanks to God for everything he had showered upon me and my family. I received too much this year, I thought He deserved to be praised.
I was having breakfast with the fambam. Chika here, lamon there. Eat here, picture there. What a good way to start a new year for me.
I was browsing my phone to check my flooded notification. Both IG and Twitter. I appreciated how fans exerted effort just to make me feel special on my birthday. I was touched, big time. Some even bought cake for me and blew it on there own in behalf of me just because they were on the other side of the world. Plus, I was trending worldwide at 5th spot with their official hashtag #HBDMikaReyes.
Boss Boy Bangus. As a notification popped up my phone's screen. "Dahil special ka, eto sayo. Happy birthday our yeye, here's our little gift for you. Hope yah like it. :)" and a video clip inserted. I opened it and "AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!", yeah, I just shouted at the restaurant, on top of lungs pa yun ha.
"Balita ko nalulungkot ka daw ngayon," he started, "wag ka nang malungkot dahil maraming bagay ang dapat mong ikasaya. Katulad na lang ng video na to, alam kong ikasasaya mo to. Pag may time ka, text mo lang ako. Ipapaforward ko yung nunber ko sayo galing kay Boss Boy. Okay? Happy birthday, Miks. Coffee tayo one of these days ha?"
Mikole, Mama and I shouted again. Nakakahiya na king nakakahiya pero, Mahmen, si DJP yun eh. Si DJ. I couldnt believe that he just greeted me, at eto pa, itext ko daw siya pag may free time ako??? Ibibigay ko pa sa kanya buong panahon ko. Enebe!! "I am not dreamin, Am I?"
I felt Miko poked my face, "Ate di ka nananaginip. He really greeted you and asked you for a coffee date, soon.", I looked at him and shouted again. Hahaha. I couldnt just contain my emotions. I took my phone back and started to type my reply to Boss Boy. "MY GHEEED!! Boss, your so bait, Im gonna die!! Thank yooooouuuuu. sobrang thank you. Forward mo daw number niya. Hahahaha!"
I saved the video on my phone and edited it. I thought I needed to post it in IG just to share to my yeyelovers how kilig I was because of this unusual birthday gift. Well, I didnt post everything he said, for my eyes only na kaya yun.
After posting the video clip, I checked again the new tags on my IG. Some pics were from my friends, and the others were from my fans. Ang nakakaloka lang, may mga throwback pics na nakatag sa akin from my last year's birthday, with someone that I ised to love.
Well, I really couldnt blame our supporters being hopia, isang taon din kaseng puro sweet photos ang nakikita nila from us and all of a sudden, bigla wala na lang. Alam ko, they were also adjusting.
After we had our family breakfast, we went back to Manila coz I still had appointment with my teammates for lunch and dinner for my other friends including Rodney.
The day went well, I received a lot of gifts and greeting. Even the king archer, Jeron Teng himself greeted me too. I just felt special on my special day.
I arrived home at around 10pm after a verryyy loooonnggg and happy day. I saw a bouquet of flowers on my bed. A combination of yellow tupils and carnation pink roses and I picked up the card, "I know you had a great day, I dont want to ruin it though, but my family and I just want to greet you a Happy Birthday. -#15"
I picked up the flowers to put it in the bedside table abd as if on queue, Mama entered the room. "Kanino daw galing?", she had asked.
I didnt answer her, instead, I handed her the card for her to read it herself. "Okay ka lang?"
I nodded. "Oo, Ma. No one can ruin my day. It too good to be ruined by insignificant ones.", I flashed a smile and picked up the towel as I about to enter the shower room to take a bath.
"Good.", Mama stood up and gave me a hug. "Happy birthday ulit, ate. I love you. Goodnight." and she went out of the room.
"Night, Ma." I suddenly felt odd. I felt like something's missing. Parang may iba. Okay nga lang ba talaga ako?
5:30 am next morning when my alarm clock sounded. I immediately stood up and got off the bed to take a shower. Maaga ang training at 7am, monday morning. I was able to sleep last night but I didnt know why I still feel so exhausted.
While eating my breakfast, I checked my IG and a picture of 3 men in blue and white caught ny attention. Two men on the picture were giving their sweetest smile while the other one was like "pilit" smile. "Those eyes are sad. Now, sinong nagsasabing hindi siya nalulungkot sa mga nangyayari ngayon?", according to the picture's caption. Nasasaktan nga ba siya? O baka naman puyat lang.
I closed my instagram coz I didnt want to see those other pictures anymore. Baka mawalan pa ko ng gana kase. I opened my imessage and typed. "Hi Idol, goodmorning. Boss boy already forwarded your number to me. Mika here."
I closed my imessage and opened my twitter, "Goodmorning @iamdanielpadilla, check your phone", I tweeted.
3pm. I didnt notice the time. It flew so fast. I was driving my way home while listening to the nusic when my phone rang for a text message notification. I stepped on the break real hard and hit my head on the sterring wheel when I read the message. "Hi, Mika. Free ka ngayon? Kase ako, OO. Care to have some coffee with me, Birthday girl?" and I shouted again for the 3rd time but now inside my car. Wait, aarte pa ba ko? Eh si DJP na to???
I just found myself getting ready for a coffee date with "The" DJ Padilla. Kinaganda ko talaga to. I just wore my usual shirt-short-shoes get up. We're just having coffee so no need to over dress.
DJ brought me to a very cozy coffee shop somewhere in Marikina. Wala masyadong tao kaya parehong in favor sa amin. We were having a good time talking about things like our interests, sports, experiences and life when a bunch of big noisy guys entered the room and our eyes shifted on them as DJ wore his cap. These guys were familiar. "Mika!", Thirdy called me and I smiled and waved back. The whole team was surprised after seeing who was with me. I introduce them to DJ and they shook hands.
"Order na tayo, guys!", someone butted in from no where and I thought ny heart skipped a beat. "Oh, Pare. Long tine, no see ah! Musta?" As they fist bumped. They were once teammates for a project game-for-a-cause before kya they know each other. He looked at me and immediately, the smile on his face vanished.
"Hi.", t'was all I said.
"Pare, hiniram ko muna.", Dj said pointing at me. "Di ko matiis ilabas tong si birthday girl eh.", He smiled at DJ reluctantly. "Tara, idikit na natin tong nga tables and chairs. Share nalang tayo para masaya."
Abd I thought it was the most awkward night ever. Awkward. Very awkward.
"Goodnight, birthday girl.", DJ waived at me and drove off. Wala man lang kahit beso. Azars.
I waited until I couldnt see his car anymore and I decided to go inside our house when someone blocled my way. "Kayo na ba?"
"Do you really need to know?"
"Just answer my goddamn question!!"
"I think this is none of your goddamn business. Now, leave!", ut he hugged me and suddenly the defenses I built for three months grew weak.
"Bakit hindi mo ko hinintay? Bakit binitawan mo ko? You should have waited for me.", he said and his shoulder was shaking. Was he crying? "Im sorry, Mika. I was an ass. Please forgive me. Lets forget everythinv that had happened in the past."
"You are forgiven, Kief. And yes, we should forget everything in the past. So forget about me."
He cupped my face and I saw how his tears fell down to his face. "Please come back to me, Babe.", and he kissed me. I felt something shivered down my spine. What was that? "I still love you. I always do."
"Mahal mo ko?", I asked hesitantly and he nodded desperately, "Hindi mo ko mahal, Kief. Kase kung mahal mo ko, hindi mo dapat ako iniwan."
