In Yunlan's office, the rest of his day consisted of the same organised chaos as his first two of the morning except that Kunlun had resorted to sending him text messages and hadn't learnt how to shorten his words, therefore it felt the same as talking to him, lengthy. Lin Jing had thoroughly scanned and searched his boss's car and it was clean thankfully.

Yunlan stood up and stretched before he lifted his jacket, while being watched by Guo Ying who recognised all the signs of him getting ready to leave and head for home. His first move was to check the carpark for anyone lurking around and then as k Lin Jing to recheck the cameras for anyone in the vicinity of the car all day. Satisfied that he was in no danger, he never stopped Yunlan from leaving and driving home, but he did jump in the front seat of the car before Yunlan drove off.

"Ying. I plan on having a quiet undisturbed journey to relax on my way home, is it necessary for you to be here? I have a hologram on one wrist and an ex-deity on the other, could you not catch up with me at the door to my house and then if you feel the need, check for burglars?"

Ying was beginning to recognise sarcasm when shown, Shen Wei never did this, it was a new experience which he considered rude but understandable, so he agreed and got out of the car before Yunlan drove off. He stood and watched until the car was out of sight before transporting himself to Yunlan's home.

The roads were normal for that time of the day. People were mainly trying to make their way home and most behaved the same way as Yunlan, tired, with the air conditioning on and listening to music to relax, trying to put the stress of the day behind a closed door in their minds for tomorrow, when they would be back at work. As he sat in the queue of cars, waiting for the lights to change at some roadworks, he watched a young man move from car to car and steadily approach him. He half expected him to be looking for someone or something workwise, so he wasn't too concerned, even when the whip left his arm and lay on the dashboard where there was a gentle heat coming from the engine. The snake looked as if it was drawn to the warmth.

The guy tapped his side window and signalled Yunlan to lower it a fraction, which he did, but only enough to hear what he was saying and then wished he hadn't. He was offering to wash the windows at a reasonable cost and also offered a valet service giving him the address of a garage, and tried persuasion in several different ways until his eye caught sight of the relaxing snake on the dashboard and he lost his voice.

The green eyed ex-deity had a weird sense of humour, which had never surfaced in front of this owner who studied him as he raised his head in a stretch, as if awakening from a sleep and stared at the frozen subject who was gripping the top edge of the glass window. Normally, he would have fired the length of his body at him and cracked loudly like the whip, but today he didn't. Quietly, he slithered towards him and lightly brushed his smooth body over the available fingers which immediately released the window, and caused the guy to take a step backwards. Yunlan laughed as the ex-deity returned to his position and went back to sleep, just before the traffic lights changed and Yunlan could drive off, using the wing mirror to watch the cars behind him swerve, to avoid the man in shock standing in the middle of the road.
