"Ying ...Zhao Yunlan will be here shortly, take the young ones outside to safety and wait for him, I will be alright."
Shen Wei said as Guo Ying gathered all the student together and teleported them outside, hiding them in the trees while Wei changed out of his cloak and tapped the watch for Kunlun to return. He knew that the whip was near, it would never be far from the watch. Shen Wei now had a major task of confusion to perform with the impersonator who was on his way back, giving him the same impression as he had when he'd left, a room full of students afraid for their lives and a frail thin professor wearing spectacles ready to answer his questions.
Outside there was the sound of tyres on gravel, slowing down as the cars were parked and Guo Ying stepped out of the trees, followed by the kidnapped students, when he recognised Yunlan and his team. He approached preparing to kneel and apologise, but was caught by his shoulders and stopped.
"Are all the students OK? Where is Shen Wei?" Yunlan asked,. He had so much more that he wanted to shout at Ying, but it could wait until later.
"My Lord is inside, we needed Kunlun to disable the explosive bracelets on everyone's wrists."
"Alright Ying. Now explain what this lunatic wants and what does it have to do with Shen Wei?" Yunlan had calmed down when he heard of the involvement of the students lives.
"They were after My Lord from the beginning, they have planned this since they found out about a bank vault which holds a vast amount of wealth, treasure beyond belief. My Lord is heir to the vault but I don't think that there is any wealth, I think that it's empty and they don't know. They also want admission to Kunlun's vault in the basement of the mansion."
"Ying, what makes you think that the vault below the bank is empty?" Yunlan asked.
"I'm not sure," and Ying moved Yunlan over to the side of the cars to speak quietly to him, without anyone hearing.
"Sometimes Lord Shen drops his guard for hiding his emotions, not often, but when that happens, I feel what he feels. He felt immense guilt as if it was his fault, something happened years ago involving Kunlun, before he was transferred to the mansion. Just now My Lord is using confusion to defend himself but he will need help."
"Thank you Guo Ying, we'll work out a plan together, stay here until you are needed, can you call the rest of the guards, please. Quietly"
Yunlan walked towards the nervous students who were standing on the edge of the road, close to the trees where they had been hiding, to ask them for any details that they could give about their hostage situation but they refused to speak, afraid to reveal the secrets of Black Robe. In their own way they saw it as protecting him. They watched as the clouds gathered and Guo Ying returned with the guards, who knelt before Yunlan, and heard him addressed as My Lord. They then understood that he was connected to Shen Wei, helping put them at ease and they were more willing to talk, but only to him. He gathered into a tight group and spoke quietly about the necessity of keeping Wei's secret.
