Wei slowly became aware of the warm body behind him, fitting his shape perfectly, the feel of Yunlan's breath as it tickled his hairline, the feel of the soft warm bed and his mind went back to the last time, only it was a cold hard rock in a cave halfway up a mountain, same feeling, different person. he was going to love this person no matter where or when, until the day he dies and his love wouldn't stop there, it would keep going on and on in a never ending circle of life and death, even if they both died, but this is now and he is here, one day at a time, one life, this one.
Wei pulled Yunlan's arm into a tighter hold around his waist, and he responded with a light kiss behind Wei's ear as he held him in a firmer grip while he moved his hand placing it upon Wei's chest and felt it being covered, held in place as they both went back to sleep.
The tempting smell of breakfast awoke Yunlan and he opened his eyes to see the deep dark beautiful eyes of his lover looking back at him.
"Xaio Wei, did you sleep better last night? I never felt you move."
"Yes A-Lan, I did."
Neither wanted to move, just being able to lie together and feel each other's heart was something that Yunlan thought he would never have in life and he didn't want to lose this closeness. Wei stared at his lover's face and could see no difference in this life to his husband in the past but there was, and it was so subtle, that it slipped past him for some time before he'd notice.
Breakfast was still hot but cooling by the minute and Yunlan's hunger forced him to move and get out of the bed just as the hologram stuck his head in the door to view a completely naked man standing looking back at him.
"Oh, my eyes are blessed but please wear something for breakfast."
"Kunlun, Out, or you will be housebound forever."
Yunlan was never ashamed of his body but being caught off guard caused him major embarrassment, even though he was only a hologram but Kunlun would keep this image in his memory banks forever. he returned to the small dining room and put the food into heaters to keep it warm until the two lovers appeared fully freshened up and dressed.
Kunlun offered to serve them and then he left them in peace to enjoy their food, and Yunlan brought up the subject of Guo Ying's disappearance.
"I don't agree with his action, would he be able to protect himself if things turned nasty? I know he can teleport but is there anything else he can do to get out of danger?"
Wei knew that he was concerned for the guard and he had good reason to be.
"The guards only have one main gift, Ying's is teleportation but he also has telepathy which is normal for all the guards, they are all telepathic, that's why they have the image as being quiet, they're not, they never stop talking all the time. However there is another side to telepathy, he can confuse people. I'll show you."
