Yunlan had a couple of weird dreams, in the first one he was on his way to work, walking for a change instead of driving and was wearing the whip around his wrist until a thief ran past him with a set of car keys, which belonged to the owner who was chasing him but couldn't run fast enough to catch him. The whip flew through the air and cracked loudly as it wrapped itself around the thief's ankle and he tripped, sending the keys flying, only to be caught by Yunlan and returned to the owner.

The second dream was of a man dressed in black from head to toe with a half face mask who made a very dramatic entrance, thunder, lightning, clouds, but no rain, Yunlan thought, it was only a dream anything was possible. And this man in black walked through the fog coming closer and closer, and slowly began to remove his mask and lower his hood, when suddenly the alarm went off at the side of the bed and woke him up. Never got to see his face, probably won't even dream about him again and he grudged getting up for work, it was a good dream.

Another fresh new start and he wondered what today would bring as he sorted out what to wear and switched the kettle on for his coffee. After breakfast when he was ready to leave, he lifted the car keys and glanced at the whip, remembering his dream and wondered if he could learn to use it in the same way but hesitated, it was just a dream, but what if he could? And on second thoughts, he lifted the whip and brought it with him.

Chu arrived first this morning before Yunlan, made his coffee and sat at his desk lost in thought while he was waiting for Daqing to appear. He had a lot to talk to him about, but Yunlan was the next person to enter through the double doors carrying the whip.

"Morning boss, brought your friend with you today?" he said, while glancing over.

"Morning Chu, yes, I dreamt about it last night and thought I'd give it a try, I can use the car park and not cause any damage or injure anyone." He said smiling as he headed towards his office.

Chu remembered the whip even before Shen Wei had returned the hidden memories last night. It was a formidable weapon linked to his owner's feelings. He'd seen it in use to trap, catch, injure and on occasion kill, but that was an independent move to defend Yunlan when he needed help. Daqing's light airy footsteps were unmistakable. When Chu heard him coming, he arose to fetch him a coffee even before he had entered the office, and sat beside Daqing's desk waiting.

"Morning Chu, what do you want?" It looked very obvious that he wanted something.

"How much do you remember about Shen Wei?" He asked as he glanced towards Yunlan's office and saw him studying the whip handle. Daqing stared at him and whispered back, matching Chu's question. "Who?"

Chu wasn't surprised that Daqing was in the same ignorant state as he had been last night, and he placed a thin dark purple string around his wrist, which would remove the memory block from Daqing's mind, and waited to see the reaction, which was more or less the same as Chu's from the previous evening. Daqing sat in a frozen stare while images assaulted his mind showing him his lost events, good and bad, whilst being human and as a cat. When his memory was complete, he swayed forward and Chu instantly caught him by his shoulders to stop him from hitting the desk, and he glanced back towards Yunlan who hadn't noticed anything happening, thankfully.
