Shen Wei approached Yunlan who wasn't afraid, only curious about what had happened.

"It's someone very young with a gift, whose parents have yet to learn about how to enforce house rules, to keep their son from harm."

"Is he from one of the trapped people of your world who never returned, what age is he? And why am I able to see him?" Yunlan asked as the snake slipped back into his sleeve and hidden.

"It's possible, but I would need to know more and just now that would not be a good idea, he's too young, maybe his parents haven't told him anything except the basics. And they are afraid for his safety. You can see him because you are more open to new experiences, the Syn portrait has had an effect on you and opened your eyes to a different way of life."

Yunlan was tired and he needed a rest from phone calls, paperwork and the prying eyes of his staff.

"Home Shen Wei, I've been here long enough, and you can tell me all about your day and if we're lucky, Kunlun might give us peace tonight without his reports about what the builders have been doing."

Yunlan checked the office security cameras to make sure that there was nothing suspicious that he wouldn't be able to explain and they left the building before finding a safe place for Wei to transport them home to his flat which was a better size for them to live in. Yunlan's flat was on the market and once the cottage was finished they would be moving, but only as far as the land surrounding the mansion

There had been a caretaker's cottage hidden behind the tall trees in need of repair, not visible unless you knew where to look, with a small quiet road leading to the rear of the mansion. This was going to be their 'cottage in the country.' Kunlun was overseeing the renovation and trying to get it finished for as soon as possible, for the couple to enjoy their privacy for as long as they wanted. In his eyes and everyone else's, they deserved it.

Wei was still holding Yunlan in his arms when they landed in his living room, and had no notion of releasing him. He wanted to feel his body next to him, enjoy his touch and his heat, giving as much pleasure as he would receive, and he silenced the phones for the night, and locked the doors.

"Xaio Wei what are you thin ..."

"Don't speak my love." And he kissed Yunlan softly, sliding his hand around the back of his neck, and teleporting at the same time to land on the bed before Yunlan's body crumpled towards the floor.

Yunlan had no defence against his touch, especially that move and he could only allow the reaction to happen and enjoy the feelings it stirred within him. When Wei was in this mood clothes were not a barrier, not anything else and he loved that part of him, as he could feel Wei's hands exploring and gliding across his skin, while he lay watching his eyes become darker with pleasure and Yunlan knew what he wanted when they moved their bodies.

He explored Wei, tasting from his mouth, and slowly working along the line of his extended neck, while he fondled with his sensitive fingertips lightly, all the way down his body. And where his touch was felt, his tongue soon followed until he reached the place Wei wanted him to be, and the delicately scented oils took over, making everything much easier, followed by wave upon wave of rapturous ecstasy as they were joined as one.

Relaxation was slow, as all their senses were released from their heightened state and they could breathe naturally again. Yunlan lowered himself to stare into Wei's eyes, seeing contentment as they lay in the soft comfortable bed, and knowing that he was always going to love him and the life he had given him, even after his death when he would hold his spirit, and they closed their eyes to sleep.

Elsewhere, in Chu's home, Kunlun had eventually sent him the information he had asked confidentially, and he sat down to read it slowly. There were a lot of small details but the bottom line read, that the only way for Yunlan to survive the stab in his heart was if Shen Wei gave him some of his power as life.

It was a technique very rarely used because it meant that the donor was shortening his life by an unknown amount of years, for the recipient to live, and the only way it would be successful was, if it was between two deities. This part had Chu confused, he knew that the snake was a deity but who was the other, was it Yunlan which was highly unlikely or was it Shen Wei which was more than possible, and he couldn't ask Wei about it, because he would then have to admit about finding out without his permission.

One of the smaller details stated that when Black Robe's human host died, the spirit which would normally go to the deceased volunteer host who was usually the partner, would still go to Yunlan, but he would still be alive. Chu could see how that would not cause any worry as far as Yunlan was concerned, because he would accept him willingly, but it had never happened before and the consequences of this outcome were terrifying.

Very rarely did Chu Shuzhi feel fear, but this would cause so many problems. The main one being that he wouldn't always be able to protect Yunlan for the rest of his life and he felt sick, fate had a strange way of catching up with these two.

Months later, after the cottage had been finished with its new tenants enjoying their quiet, undisturbed life, the mansion had its official opening as a training facility for the gifted in this world. Shen Wei remained the owner but kept a low profile to protect his identity as much as possible, while The Centre for The Gifted was run by the existing guards and had one of the most knowledgeable principles in charge of everything. Nothing escaped his attention and how he found out was a mystery to all the new students, who never realised that he wasn't human. Professor Kunlun saw and heard everything that happened in the mansion grounds, except for the area around the cottage. He respected their privacy but kept a separate security system running for their safety.

Kunlun's vault was more complex than ever, it had to be because it housed the remainder of the antiques which had survived the attack that day, when so many other historical items had been destroyed. This was where his bank of knowledge came from, he was able to weed out the unsuitable students before they were even finished their interviews.

The university was sad when Shen Wei handed in his resignation, informing them that he had been offered a position in a new college of learning, he would keep his status as a professor in ancient history, but the subject would be expanded to include knowledge that had been kept out of the teaching process in all other colleges and schools. The main reason for establishing this Centre was to give the gifted a place to learn how to control their gifts and go on to a career in law enforcement. The exceptional students would be given the choice to become guards.

Shen Wei made a brief appearance at the reception after the opening ceremony, anonymously wandering while studying the new students, recognising some of them from the hostage situation and they nodded in respect but kept their distance. The mansion looked completely different and he was delighted that Kunlun had made such an amazing change to the feel and the look inside. He had kept the original staircase but nothing else in the reception which was all new and Wei loved it. However one place was repeatedly calling him which he tried to ignore but couldn't when he felt the wave of sickness churning in his stomach increase, if he tried to turn away and leave, so he had no option except to follow the pull towards the library.

The double white doors opened quietly as he drew nearer, allowing him entry and automatically closed behind him with a small click, locking to keep anyone else out.
