Zhao Yunlan arose for work, not so tired today after having yesterday off, but he had seen the story of the armed bank raid on TV, and realised that the reporters wouldn't have had all the facts, so he knew that he would be busy today trying to get through all the paperwork. When he finished his breakfast, he lifted the old watch that he'd found in the cave, with the intention of taking it to a jeweller to be fixed but it seemed to be working, so he wore it instead. He glanced at the whip wondering what to do with it. Maybe he should show it to Chu who knew about old objects, even though he didn't think that it was an antique, Chu might be able to tell him something, and he put the whip in his inside pocket.

Traffic wasn't bad yet, it was still too early for most drivers to be out going to work and that's why Yunlan preferred this time of the day, there was less stress on the roads. He was the first to arrive in the office, surprised to see his desk empty, so he fetched himself a coffee and took out the whip, leaving it lying on the empty table in front of him, and he drank while waiting on Daqing or Chu to arrive. Yunlan's office was the small one inside the main office where all the team's desks were spread out, giving them enough space in between for a second person to be seated for interviews. The small kitchen area was close to Yunlan's office which meant that he could listen to conversations sometimes.

The footsteps were springy and sounded quick,

"Good Morning Daqing." Yunlan shouted from his office with no intention of moving.

"Morning Boss, how was your weekend? See any snow?" He joked and lifted his mug on his way to the small office.

"Good, interesting. What about the bank raid yesterday, I saw it on TV. Give me a quick run down deputy."

"Boss, it was a weird one, they gave themselves up, admitted to everything."

"They admitted to the raid?" Yunlan asked surprised.

"No, they admitted to everything, every single crime they did in their lives, all three of them, they wore out Chu and Zhu Hong, and when that was finished, two muggers walked in and asked to be arrested, admitting the same. To every crime they ever committed. It was a strange day. We closed at least five open cases."

This was something new, never in his life as a policeman, had he heard of anything like it. Daqing stepped forward to say something but the words never left his mouth when he caught sight of the whip on top of Yunlan's desk and stepped back to a safe distance. His movement didn't go unnoticed but Chu's voice was heard in the kitchen area, diverting Yunlan from what he was about to ask and he called him in.

"Morning Boss, did you have a nice weekend? See any snow?"

"Yes I had a good weekend and no I didn't see any snow. Is that the standard question for today? Yesterday... bank raiders and muggers?" He snapped back at them.
