NO ONE'S POV
As Haerin and Minji sat at their chosen table, they started to dig in with their food. Haerin couldn't help but smile at Minji's encounter with Yeonjun. This is the first time she saw Minji looking pissed and trying to confront someone.
After years of being Minji's friend, she's proud that Minji has encountered something that is not on her usual days.
Haerin, her eyes still wide with amazement, leaned in close to Minji. "I can't believe you managed to give such a savage reply to Yeonjun. That was epic!" She said then giggled
Minji, her cheeks flushed with a mix of pride and lingering embarrassment, shrugged a bit. "I didn't plan it, Hae. It just came out. but he had it coming." she said then took a bite of her food.
"He was really getting on my nerves."
Haerin chuckled. "Well, I'm glad it did. He deserved a taste of his own medicine. You totally owned that moment."
Minji's grin widened. "I guess I did, didn't I? Thanks for having my back, Haerin," she said then giggled
Haerin took a bite of her sandwich and then looked at Minji earnestly. "You know, I'm really proud of you, Minji. It's not easy to stand up for yourself like that, especially when someone who is as famous and unpleasant as Yeonjun." She said as she pointed in Yeonjun's direction.
Minji's expression softened as she glanced down at her food. "I've been trying to be more expressive and assertive lately, and it's because of friends like you who encourage me."
"Are you sure it's because of me?" Haerin asked smirking " Or it's because of your 'Bunny'" she added giggling, giving Minji a teasing look.
"You're one of the reasons, Haerin." Minji said rolling her eyes "That's why I've been making an effort to be more sociable. It's been a bit intimidating, but I think it's paying off." She added
"Yeah yeah.. 'One of the reasons', tsk" Haerin said playfully mocking Minji. "It's working though! You're not just speaking your mind, but you're also making friends. I saw you chatting with Liz and Rei earlier."
"Yeah, aren't they together?" Haerin asked, Minji nodded, "Yeah, they said They've been together since 6th Grade," Minji replied Crossing her arms.
"Wow, That's really fucking impressive." Haerin replied.
"But anyways, that was just a brief interaction with them, they are asking me if I wanted to hang out with them" Minji said
"I can tell. I'm glad you're opening up. It's great to see you engaging with others and building connections." Haerin said as she raised both of her eyebrows. "It's fine for you to make friends. just don't leave me behind"
"I wouldn't do that, Hae," Minji said laughing
"You're my one and only best friend" she added assuring Haerin
Haerin reached over and gave Minji's hand a reassuring squeeze. "That's the spirit, Minji. You're stronger than you think, and you deserve to be heard. Don't let anyone push you around."
Minji's eyes met Haerin's, filled with gratitude. "Thanks, Haerin. You're one of the reasons I've been able to come out of my shell a bit more."
Haerin beamed with pride. "I'm really happy to hear that. You've got so much to offer, and I'm glad you're starting to see it."
As they continued to chat over their lunch, Minji felt a newfound sense of confidence welling up within her. "You know, Haerin, I'm surprised at myself too. I never thought I'd be capable of standing up to someone like Yeonjun." Haerin took a sip of her juice and nodded.
