NO ONE'S POV

The university day had taken an unexpected turn for Minji. The curious glances from her classmates and other students had left her uneasy, and now, she found herself standing nervously outside the Dean's office. The day had become a strange series of events, and a negative feeling clung to her.

Minji knocked on the door, and after a brief pause, a stern voice instructed her to come in. As she stepped inside, the serious expression on the Dean's face increased her anxiety.

The Dean gestured for her to take a seat, and Minji complied, her mind racing with thoughts about why she was called.

"Why did you call me, Mr. Jeon?" Minji asked, her voice tinged with a hint of nervousness.

The Dean, maintaining a stern gaze, inquired about Minji's sudden decline in grades.

"Minji, are you aware that your grades have declined?"  Mr. Jeon asked and concern in his eyes were evident.

Minji shifted uncomfortably in her seat, trying to find an explanation that wouldn't expose her personal life. "I've been busy with something,"
She said attempting to mask the nervousness and disappointment that brewed beneath the surface.

The Dean, unimpressed, then told another concern. "I've also heard reports about you skipping your special class. That's not the Minji I knew. Care to explain?" he asked, his voice tinged with concern.

he knew Minji, he knew that Minji is a consistent high grade acheiver eversince Minji studied in the university. Minji has made herself the professor's favorite and have received multiple academic awards. That's why she was confused why Minji suddenly declined in her studies.

Minji's heart skipped a beat, and for a moment, Hanni's image flashed in her mind. She quickly dismissed the thought, refocusing on the conversation. "I've had some personal matters to attend to," Minji replied vaguely.

"Well whatever that's bugging you got you removed from the valedictorian candidacy. I'm sorry to say this but your grades have declined. I know youre a student whose an academic acheiver. I just don't know how come you suddenly changed." Mr. Jeon delivered the disappointing news about Minji's removal from the valedictorian candidacy.

The weight of the revelation sank into Minji, leaving her feeling defeated. The expectation the Dean had placed on her echoed in the room, a stark reminder of the potential she had seemingly squandered.

Mr. Jeon leaned back in his swivel chair, "I expected more from you, Minji. Now, without the valedictorian candidacy, I hope you'll refocus and not let yourself become lazy or manage whatever that's bugging you," he said admonished, his words hanging heavy in the air.

As Minji left the Dean's office, a sense of disappointment and anger at herself enveloped her. She couldn't shake the feeling of letting not only letting herself down but also those who believed in her.

The once-confident and determined Minji emerged with a head lowered, a cold demeanor evident in her every step.

She walked through the hallways, the weight of her choices palpable. The reality of losing the valedictorian candidacy and the disappointment she saw in the Dean's eyes fueled a determination to regain control over her academic and personal life.

Minji faced the consequences of her actions, grappling with the harsh truth that sometimes, the pursuit of balance comes with a heavy cost.
Hanni entered the classroom, that was once bustling with students, now stood empty except for her and Hanni. As she entered, her expression heavy with disappointment.

Hanni's worry intensified. She could sense that Minji was deeply upset.

"Hanni," Hanni's name escaped Minji's lips with a sigh, her voice a mixture of frustration and regret.

Concern etched across her face, "What happened, Minji? What did the dean tell you?" She still asked even though she knew that Minji just recieved the bad news.

Minji remained silent, her eyes avoiding Hanni's gaze. The weight of the news hung in the air, and Hanni could feel the palpable disappointment emanating from the later.

Minji collected her things she left behind, her movements deliberate yet burdened.

Hanni tried to break the heavy silence, "Minji, please. Talk to me. What did the dean say?" She said as she held Minji's arm.

"You knew about this, didn't you?" Minji asked with her blank expression as she realized how Hanni approached her earlier. She knew that Hanni knew something she didn't know but she was confused why Hanni told her that she's sorry. 'Maybe she knew that I'm not one of the veledictorian candidates anymore but why did she say sorry?' she thought

"W-what do you mean?" Hanni stuttered. Her hands are shaking now. "Minji.."

However, Minji didn't respond. The disappointment, the realization of the consequences of her actions, and the burden of her newly altered academic standing seemed to weigh her down. She took her bag and then walked past Hanni without uttering a single word.

Hanni watched Minji leave the room, a heavy sense of guilt settling within her. She understood the unspoken words - the dean had told Minji the news that Minji was no longer a valedictorian candidate.

The gravity of the situation weighed on Hanni's heart, knowing that her involvement in the dare had contributed to this painful outcome for Hanni.

Deciding to give Minji space, Hanni chose not to follow. If Minji needed company, she knew Minji could seek it from her.

As the door closed behind Minji, the emptiness of the classroom echoed the new sense of loss and disappointment that lingered in the air.

Alone in the room, Hanni sank into a chair, her thoughts heavy with remorse. The ache in her heart increased as she knew that her actions had played a role in Minji's downfall.

She suddenly regretted everything. Hanni was genuinely hurting right now. She's having a hard time breathing and eyes are tempting to cry and the burden of guilt rested heavily on Hanni's shoulders and heart.

Hanni stayed in the room for hours. She kept on looking at her phone, hoping that Minji would call her. "Please be okay.. I hope you won't know about the dare.." she said as tears started to flow out of her eyes.
