Regret flows like a deadly river with a strong stream

Regret flows like a deadly river with a strong stream. It grabs onto everything weak, carries them until the end of time, doesn't let go easily. Regret is painful, thought provoking, mad. It creeps in after the waves from your stomach-twisting feelings have calmed down, wraps itself tightly around you, squeezes you, strangles you until you give into it.

Regret is the destroyer of past moments.

Regret is the destroyer of bliss.

River flows in him, has him in its deadly grip.

Steps heavy, Jungkook makes his way upstairs, the confidence in him long gone. It ran to the hills when he made the decision to do this. The uncertainty in him has never been stronger but he knows he can't avoid this. It has to be done or else he's doomed. And she is too.

The scent of french toast flows in the air as he reaches the second floor, the rays of sunlight pushing through every open window. He'd be outside enjoying it if it wasn't for the mess that was caused last night.

It's been eating him up the whole night, allowed him to have only a two hour sleep. There's an immense guilt weighing his chest, guilt from letting things go too far. Especially when she was drunk.

And he regrets bringing up the things they talked about. He regrets leaving the table and showing her he was pissed about the sudden guest she brought to their table. He regrets hugging her, letting her think it was okay to do so.

A mess.

A fucking mess.

"Morning." his voice is raspy since he doesn't care to clear it before speaking up.

Vivi's sat at the kitchen table, eating bits from her french toast by ripping them off one by one. She barely looks at him when he speaks even though she's facing the room.

"Can I join you?" he asks carefully, heart beating in his chest.

Gaze dropping to her plate, Vivi nods, gives him permission to join her.

He does. Takes a few pieces of toast from the kitchen counter and a carton of orange juice before joining her. He sits across from her, watches as she avoids his eyes at all costs, plays with the pieces of toast on her plate.

She's not hungry. Not at all. But nauseous, that she is so she has to eat or it'll get worse.

Yes, she's hungover. Wouldn't be that badly if it weren't for the night full of tears she had. The feeling of rejection so fresh in her system, she could breakdown again and oh so easily.

"About last night..." Jungkook speaks up, wants this to be over already and get back to how they were before, "I don't know how much you remember but-"

"Everything."
