"What I'm trying to say is, I can keep a secret, for as long as I like. I can take secrets to my grave." her tone lowers, their eye contact doesn't ease, "But I need you to promise me you'll do that too. Because if you do, we'll be okay. We'll be sa...

"You're back already."
The house seems cold and dreary, doesn't compare to Versailles one bit.
It's like coming back down to earth after floating on a cloud for a week. It's like being handed a heavy backpack after walking around without it for a good while.
It's like stepping back to reality after living in a dream and hoping life would always be like that.
It's not. The reality is Seoul. The reality is coming back home and realizing you're not safe no matter where you go.
"Yeah." Jungkook breathes, watches as Vivi's already going up the stairs and not looking back.
Sunmi can't help but notice his doings, follows his gaze to the stairs, sees Vivi disappear to the second floor, causing Jungkook to look back at Sunmi.
"Something happened?" she asks quietly, already knows the answer but needs confirmation.
Because - you know - she's lived this period of Vivi's life before. She knows it's about the photos Vivi agreed to do that with that lingerie company. She knows it's because of the aftermath.
But something about the look in Jungkook's eyes tells her there's more.
There is more, she's not wrong about that. But it's something she cannot know. Not in a million years. Sunmi is trustworthy but no one can know.
Jungkook has a feeling he's fucked up greatly with Vivi. Has made bad choices one after the other. There's so much he wants to do but his uncertainty has bloated into something uncontrollable. And he's helpless. He hopes they could go back to that afternoon when they were both sat at the piano, her leaning against his shoulder while he played the keys. He hopes the gardener never walked in because he would've kissed her with all his might. Perhaps even devour her body on top of the piano.
If they hadn't been interrupted, if they hadn't been seen, perhaps Cosette wouldn't have placed that camera in her room and they could've spend another week of peace and quiet in France.
"No, she's alright. Homesick, that's all." Jungkook gives Sunmi a brief smile before walking past her with his suitcases, hopes she'll believe him even though he's bad at acting something he isn't.
He heads downstairs, enters his room that somehow smells unfamiliar. The scent similar to what it was when he entered the room the first time almost three months ago.
It's symbolic even. Is he back to square one?
Because he's back to sitting in his room, wondering what she's doing, hoping he'd see at least a glimpse of her the rest of the day. He's back to his routines. Walks around the house when the evening falls, checks his emails, sits in the monitor room and stares at the black screen that should show Vivi's bedroom. Feels defeated, like he messed up in something. He's balancing on an uncertain rope, his legs wobbling as he battles, doesn't know which way to fall if he cannot stand on it any longer.
