"Get in the car. I'll be right there." Jungkook tells Vivi, guides her with a hand on the small of her back.

She does as she's told, quietly mutters her goodbyes to Jungkook's mom, who's walked out the door with them.

Jungkook watches Vivi's narrow back as she walks to her Porsche, sits on the passenger seat before throwing the door shut, giving Jungkook the chance to turn to his mother with built up anger.

Yes, perhaps all mothers are the same, defensive and maybe even possessive. But sometimes the glass just overflows and causes floods everywhere.

"Why did you bring her here? You put us in a very uncomfortable situation." she starts, her tone quieter but her words sharp.

Jungkook has a hard time understanding the audacity his mother has. Two years and this is how she treats him and the person he came with? He wants to laugh. Wants to tug on his hair. Wants to show signs of insanity because this is something he never thought would happen.

"No, dad was fine." he states with forced calmness, "You made the situation uncomfortable. She didn't do anything to you."

"She didn't do anything? She's the reason we don't see you anymore. The reason your life is on hold. Jungkook, you told us this job is only temporary and you will be coming back but that promise was empty." his mother whisper-shouts, despair evident on her face as she hopes her son would listen to her.

But she doesn't know anything, he thinks. It's absurd how much she dislikes Vivi, how she doesn't see how important Vivi is to him, how she doesn't understand he is happy like this. And how out of the fucking blue this comes to him. If he knew, he wouldn't have even came to see them. He wouldn't have put Vivi on the spot like this. He wouldn't have even drove four hours to get here in the first place.

Yes, he might've told them he'll come back in no time the last time he saw them but he wasn't sure back then. Nor is he now.

"That's not true." he strictly denies her words.

"I'm not trying to rush you but your brother was engaged at your age and you don't even have anyone to share your life with. I'm worried, Jungkook. Is this how your life is always going to be because I don't think you're happy. I don't think you've thought this through. This is not permanent, she's not permanent. Do not lose your life like this." she argues, briefly glances towards the fancy Porsche sitting on their driveway, doesn't see how Vivi dodges her eye contact.

"What do you want from me?" Jungkook hisses out of desperation, "You and dad have always preached about how important it is to work. I'm doing that now so what the hell is the problem?"

"Don't swear at me, Jungkook."

"You know what? She's the reason I'm here right now. She found out I hadn't seen you in two years so she arranged this trip." he raises his voice while pointing towards the car Vivi's sitting in, unaware she can hear every word they say, "I just couldn't leave her alone at the hotel, okay? I have to keep her safe at all times. She's my first priority right now."
