"What I'm trying to say is, I can keep a secret, for as long as I like. I can take secrets to my grave." her tone lowers, their eye contact doesn't ease, "But I need you to promise me you'll do that too. Because if you do, we'll be okay. We'll be sa...

Life goes on.
Surprisingly. It goes on as if hearts weren't shattered and trusts weren't broken. Miraculously. Weeks pass by and August takes over with its colder winds and rainy days that all feel similar to one another. You barely even notice it's almost September already. If you were to compare the present time with what everything was like at the beginning of the year, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. It's hauntingly similar. Though Jungkook still lives downstairs.
Vivi stays put, spends her days reading, photographing, staring into emptiness. She barely leaves the house anymore and if she does, she regrets it. Though she thought she got rid of that habit already. But it was actually only because of Jungkook. Without him, everything's back to what they were before him.
Nowadays he does his job and nothing more or less. He wakes up, checks the premises, goes with Vivi if she leaves for a walk. But even then he makes sure to keep a ten step distance. The two don't talk or even look at each other. It's all because of his doings that made everything worse.

"What is this?"
Sunmi flinches from the sudden sound of Vivi speaking up since her office was otherwise so painfully quiet. Straightening her back and pausing her dusting, she faces Vivi, spots a piece of paper in her hands. She already sounds angry, utterly betrayed to be more specific.
Mentally she beats herself up for coming upstairs to dust when she knew what was about to take place. In fact she has known since yesterday and even thought about informing Vivi about it just to soften the blow. But it wasn't her place to do so. This needed to be solved between him and her.
"I think Jungkook brought it this morning." Sunmi hesitantly answers.
Brought it as in coldly placed it on Vivi's desk. Supposedly to soften the blow. He was wrong, horribly wrong.
Because it doesn't soften the blow. In fact Vivi storms out of her office and down the staircase in nothing but her pajamas. Heart beating in her chest she feels the old wounds opening up and bleeding excessively. Just as she was about to feel at least a little better.
But how could she? How could she feel better if she's not on speaking terms with the only man she has ever truly loved?
And now that man wants to leave.
"No." Vivi snaps, that piece of paper she just held a crumbled ball on the floor in the middle of Jungkook's bedroom.
He stands next to his bed, dumbfounded, his bags neatly on the bed ready to flee this house.
"What?" he asks, his voice surprisingly quiet.
"I said no. You're not leaving. The answer is no." Vivi grits her teeth together while for the first time in weeks looking at Jungkook in the eye.
