"Last time on Sonic X, to capture Dr. Eggman, the president created a combat contest with a gem of a prize, a Chaos Emerald. As the fatling began the commander-in-chief got clobbered by a knight and other competitors duped it out in a series of kooky clashes. The odds-on favorite was Sonic 'til he found out he had to face off against Maria, but the uncomfortable confrontation was avoided. But Eggman buttes into the battle. *Scene: The tournament building*

*Knuckles and Chris are now in the ring*

"Keep away from me!,"yelled Knuckles.

*Chris roars as he charges at Knuckles and Maria who leaps out of the way*

"Please, Chris! We don't wanna fight you!,"yelled Maria.

*Scarlet now sits in the announcer's booth, with Tails by her side*

"I don't understand, Tails. Why is Knuckles and Maria are running away?,"asked Scarlet. "Knuckles and Maria probably doesn't want to fight 'cause they're afraid that Chris is gonna get hurt,"Tails answered.

*Chris continues lunging repeatedly at Knuckles and Maria, who continues dodging*

"Let's go, Knuckles and Maria!,"yelled Chris. "No!,"yelled Knuckles and Maria.
"(Why won't Knuckles and Maria fight?),"asked Crowd. "Quit running away!,"Chris said. "We won't! Cut it out!,"Knuckles yelled. "Come on and fight me!,"He said. "We're not gonna fight you!,"yelled Maria. "Hey!,"Chris yelled. "That Chris Thorndyke certainly is brave,"said Scarlet. "Especially when the other guy's running away,"said Tails.

*Chris finally pauses*

"Why don't you just forfeit so I can win?,"asked Chris. "Chris we can do this all day if we have too but we're not going to forfeit. You'll regret it,"said Maria. "Okay... but look who's in the next round!,"said Knuckles.

*Chris looks at the tournament bracket*

"*Worried* I'd have to fight Maria, Amy or Rouge?! *To himself* Rouge would do anything to win that Chaos Emerald, and if Amy gets mad enough, she'll knock me out of the stadium! And Maria could defeat me in 4 seconds since there's an odd number of players! There's no way to win! *Chris gulps, then suddenly feigns injury* My appendix! Get me a doctor!,"yelled Chris.

*Elmer raises Knuckles and Maria' hands in victory*

"Knuckles and Maria moves on!,"yelled Elmer.

*Chris and Chuck are standing together outside the ring*

"I think you made a very wise move, Chris,"said Chuck. "*Nods* Yeah,"said Chris. "I see you have your mom's acting talent,"said Nelson.

"And now for Knuckles and Maria to face off to determine who goes into the final 7!,"said Scarlet.

*Maria and Knuckles looks at each other in shocked. Knuckles knows that he couldn't beat Maria because she's extremely powerful and unbeatable. Maria doesn't want to fight Knuckles because she's his friend. Knuckles feels the same way because he doesn't want his friend either. Maria walk to the middle*

"I would like to forfeit this match I can't hurt Knuckles and I want him to moves on,"said Maria.

*Knuckles smiles at her and give Maria a thumbs-up and Maria gives him a thumbs-up*
