Since Baji was asleep, you decided to go out. You went to the convenience store to buy snacks. Once you left the store, someone spotted you.

"Y/N?"

You turned your head to see Draken.

"What you up to?"

"Nothing, going back home."

"And Baji?"

"He's sleeping."

"At this hour?!"

"He's sick, so he's sleeping right now."

"That explains it. Anyways, you wanna hang out? Mikey is with Emma, so I'm free right now."

Since Baji was asleep, you thought it would be ok to be out for a bit. Draken suggested going to a nearby park where you guys can talk. You guys sat far away from where everyone was.

"So, how you been?"

"I've been good."

"That's good. How's school, everything good?"

"Yeah, thanks to Baji-san, I don't get bullied anymore.

"Did he threaten them?"

"Yeah... he did."

Draken chuckled at that. "Good to hear everything is going good with you. You have Baji and his mom taking good care of you. It must be nice having someone take care of you."

"Don't you have parents who take care of you?"

"I don't."

I shouldn't have asked.

"I didn't have parents growing up, so I was raised in a brothel. Honestly, I wished I had parents. Whether it be a mom, dad or both, I didn't care. I just wanted someone to take care of me."

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't know."

"It's ok. I don't talk about it, so it's not like you knew. Besides, the adults I live have taken care of me."

Now I feel bad.

Kids were running around playing with each other having there parents following them. You guys just stared at them having fun.

Wish I had a family like that. You thought.

"What you thinking about?"

"O-oh, uh, nothing."

"You can tell me."

"It's just that I wished I had a real family. I wish my parents loved me. It would've also been nice if I had a brother or sister." You were now feeling down thinking about wanting a family.

"But you do have a family, Baji and his mom. Sure they're not your biological family, but they treat you as one."

He's right. Ryoko-san treats me like I'm her daughter, but Baji-san, I don't see him as a brother. "Yeah, you're right, at least I know what it feels like to have a real mom, but with Baji-san, I don't see him as a brother."

"Then how do you see him as?"

"I don't know... a friend."

A friend huh. I know she'll figure it out soon. "You know, I've always wanted a younger sibling. I wanted to be the big protective older brother they would look up to."

"You would be a good big brother."

"You think so?"

"Yeah."

"And what makes you think that?"

"You're so grown up. You're also caring and nice. You're strong too, so I know you'll protect them if they're in trouble. Anyone would be lucky to have you as a big brother."

"What if I became your big brother?"

"What do you mean?"

"Yeah, what if I said I can become your big older brother and you can be my little sister?"

Wait, what?! Is he serious? You didn't expect him to say anything like that. It caught you by surprise. You took a minute before saying anything. "Do you mean it?"

"Of course I do. I honestly see you as a little sister. Especially since we both don't have any family members, then maybe we can become each others family."

We can be each others family...

Hearing him say that brought tears to your eyes. Even if Ryoko accepted you, you never thought someone would want to be your family.

"Ahh don't cry."

"S-sorry, I'm just happy."

"So is that a yes?" You nodded.

He patted your head smiling. "From now on, I'll make sure to protect you and be there for you. If you ever need anything, you can always talk to me."

"Thank you."

After some time, you guys left since you wanted to check up on Baji. When you got home, you went straight to Baji's room to see how he's doing. When you opened his door, you saw him playing with a cat.

"Where were you? I was literally calling you, but you weren't here."

"I went out."

"By yourself?"

"Yeah, but then I saw Draken and we went to the park."

"At least he was with you."

The cat left Baji and went up to you. You picked up the cat. It was Kuro. You sat down to lay him down on your lap.

"Are you feeling better?"

Should I lie to her so she can continue taking care of me? "I'm still feeling sick."

"Let me check."

You let go of the cat and went up to feel Baji's forehead. Baji was now getting nervous since his fever did go down. He knew you would find out he was lying.

Fuck, now what?

When you approached him, he couldn't help but stare at you. He just blushed seeing how close you were getting. You put your hand to his forehead.

"You're still hot. Maybe I should give you more medicine."

"But I'm not sick." Shit, I forgot I lied.

"You said you were sick and you still feel hot."

Guess I should just tell her the truth. "I swear I feel better."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm feeling better."

You didn't know what to think. He did say he was sick, but now he's saying he's feeling better? You thought it was because he didn't want to take the medicine. You didn't want to force him to take it, so you didn't say anything.

I'm stupid! I should've never told her the truth! If I wasn't distracted by her, she could've still took care of me.
