-Dylan-
Max has been in Appleton now for a few days and I can finally go see him.
I knock on the door and walk in. He looks.
"Hi." I say.
"Hey."
He wears sweatpants and a t-shirt.
"You okay?"
"Yeah."
"You sure?"
"Yeah."
"Okay."
I pull up a chair and sit across from him.
"So, how've you been?" I ask.
"Good."
"That's good."
"But being here has made me start to think a lot more then usual."
"Probably."
"And I realize how big of an idiot I am for a lot of stuff."
"Your not an idiot."
"I am. I don't know why I raced this year. I should have just stayed with dance. I knew I should have."
"You would have never known if you didn't though."
"I know. But still. I knew I had an issue and I didn't do what I needed to do. I mean, one and done right? And I risked a lot getting back in a car."
"Everyone does."
"I know. I just didn't see it. I've got two awesome parents. Two brothers and a sister. And. And I've got someone special."
Oh. Should have known that.
"You." He says.
I look at him.
"What?" I say.
"You. It's always been you. Since the day I first went into Junior it's been you."
Wow. He smiles.
"No one gets me like you do. Nobody."
His smile grows bigger.
"from dance to anything. No one gets it. Except you. So, I was wondering if you would be my girlfriend?"
I look at him.
"What?"
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
I smile.
"Yes."
He hugs me.
