-Dylan-
It's been a few weeks. I'm in dance with Alex. Just messing around before class and improving my turns.
My mom walks in.
"Dylan, I need to talk to you."
I stop and look at her.
"Okay."
I walk out with her.
"Honey, Jay's mom just called me."
"Is she okay! Please tell me she's okay!"
"Jay passed away."
I fall against her in tears.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
"Can we just go home?"
"Tell Alex and we can go home."
"Okay."
I wipe my eyes and walk in.
"Dylan, I have to go."
She looks at me.
"Oh no."
She knows. She comes and hugs me.
"Take as much time as you need."
"Thanks."
"No problem."
I grab my bag and walk out by my mom. She puts her arm around me and we walk out of the gym.

-Alex-
The team walks in. Just the three of them.
"As you all can see. Dylan is not here. She was here earlier and her mom walked in. She got news that Jay has passed away."
"Oh my God!" Emily says.
Max just looks down.
"I still am planning on Dylan having the solo I have planned for this time in her life and the group. If not, we will work it out."

-Dylan-
I walk in to my room and just flop on my bed and lie there staring at the ceiling. My legs hanging off the bed. Tears spread across my face. My mom walks in and I put my head on her lap and she runs her hand through my hair.
"It's going to be okay. She's watching you right now. She loves you."
"Still."
"I know, I know."
"I'm going back to dance tomorrow though. I need to clear my head."
"Okay."
She shuts the door. I get into bed. I just fall asleep, wanting to get away from the world.

I wake up to someone shaking me.
"What?" I say sleepily.
"Dylan, come on. Hurry up. Out the window let's go." It's Jay.
"Jay?"
"Come on. Climb out the window."
I do.
She grabs me and we fly over the house.
"Jay! What are you doing!"
"Showing you how I live now."
"This is awesome."
"I know."
"I miss you."
"Me too. But I'm with you. Don't worry."
"Okay."
"But, I've got to tell you something."
"What?"
"This is a dream."
"What?"
"Bye Dylan."
"Jay!"
"Bye."

I wake up. That's when I realize it was a dream. I look at my phone. It's only 6am. Wait, was this day all a dream?
I text Jay. She responds. Oh my God! It was all a dream!

I couldn't have Jay die. I just couldn't.
