-Dylan-
I get in the car.
"Hey."
"Hi." I say to my mom.
"How was class?"
"Good. We just, don't have a member."
"Who?"
"Sophie."
"Oh. That doesn't surprise me."
"Why does she have to do this! Why! I have a solo in like two days and I'm freaking out because what if she's there and ugh!"
My mom rubs my back.
"It will be fine. I promise."

Later that night I lay on my bed trying to get some rest. But nothing works. My mom walks in then.
"Hey. You okay?"
"I can't sleep."
"Well, something's on your mind. Is it Sophie? Your solo?"
"I don't know. Maybe all of it."
"might be. Just try and get some sleep okay? You need it."
"Thanks." She kisses my forehead.
"Love you. Good night."
"Night."
A little while later someone opens my door then closes it.
"Dylan?"
Crystal.
"Yeah?"
"Mom said maybe I should come sleep with you. She said you can't sleep."
"Yeah."
She crawls up the other side of my bed.
"well, what's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"Don't lie to me Dylan. I know your upset about something."
"What? No I'm not."
"Dylan, your my favorite person in the world I know if your not okay." She says sitting and looking at me.
"Fine. Come here." I lift up the comforter so she can get in.
What she just said was adorable. I can't help it.
"So, what's wrong?"
"Friend stuff."
"Sophie?"
"How'd you know that?"
"I haven't heard you say her name and I haven't heard her ringtone from your phone."
"Oh. Well, yeah. We're not friends anymore. And she's not on Dream anymore."
She comes closer to me.
"Why aren't you friends?"
"There's a new girl named Emily and she's really nice and I'm friends with her. So Sophie got mad and said that she's going to replace her so this all blew up and now I won't see her again."
"Does that make you sad?"
"No. Makes me more mad actually that she didn't believe me on what I said."
"Then she's not your friend."
"What do you know about friends."
"Because you told me if they don't believe you or trust in what your saying then there not a real friend."
"You remember that?"
"Yeah."
"Well, that's right."
"I love you Dylan."
"I love you too."
She moves by me.
"Night."
"Night." She says.
As much as she can be a pain in the butt I wouldn't ask for a different sister. She's the best I could ask for.
