We're in class waiting for our plan the week.
"Okay. I have a duet, group and solo this week. The duet is going to Emily and Adam and is called, Deep Within. The group is called Young and Wild. And the solo is going to Dylan."
Dylan looks down. Alex looks at her.
"Dylan, your solo is called Skin."
I see Dylan take a deep breath.
"Do this for Jay."
She nods. Alex walks to her and whispers something. Dylan leaves.
"A lot of you are probably wondering why Dylan just left and was off. Yesterday she got news from her friend Jay. 14 months ago Jay was diagnosed with brain cancer and was given 18 months to live."
What! Oh my God! Dylan! I had no idea! Worst boyfriend ever!
"So, if you guys see her leave from her solo just let her be."

I walk into the big room for my solo.
"You ready?"
"Yeah."
I run it once fully and then a second time. Then with the music. After I just lost it. Alex grabbed me and told me it was okay. I hope it was.
