↜3rd Person Pov↝
Tightening her hands into fists, (Y/N) stared at the fight with wide eyes. Well, calling it a fight would be wrong. Bullying would fit it more. Hanzo was just throwing Gon around, trying to get him to give up. The people watching were hoping that he would finally surrender after being beaten and beaten. It's been three hours, after all.
Feeling her anger rise, the young Gladiator had to physically turn away, now looking at her white haired friend. "Killua." she called his name, gaining his attention immediately. His cold, blue eyes met her (e/c) ones.
"I think I'm not gonna make this year's Exam. Care to wait for me for a year?" she stated, her voice as low and serious as he never heard her before. Immediately, alarm bells rang in his head as he quickly understood where she was going with this.
She planned to kill Hanzo, ending in her failing and everyone else passing. "Don't." he said, just as she began to walk forwards. Starting to panic, he grabbed her wrist, trying to pull her back. He had to pull with all of his might, his eyes wide as he feared for the worst.
Sure, he could wait a year. But to spend a whole year without her? No, they could still go on adventures together, she just wouldn't have the Hunter license. But that would only make things complicated. So, it's not an option!
"(Y/N)! Stop!" he called out, trying even harder to make her stop. To no avail. She was physically stronger than him, and they both knew that very well. And yet, he couldn't just let her interrupt Gon's fight and kill Hanzo. Even if he wanted to kill him himself.
Getting a sudden idea, Killua let go of her wrist. He quickly got in front of her, placing his arms around her waist, trapping her in a tight hug. (Y/N) blinked a few times, then asked. "Wh-What are you doing?"
"Stopping you from doing something idiotic, you idiot!" he replied, glad that his strategy worked. He had noticed that she was the physical type. She would often hug him or Gon, stay quite close to them, or simply come into contact with him. He wasn't very fond of it, but for her, he was willing to learn to accept it.
She relaxed in his arms, releasing a quiet sigh. (Y/N) leaned her head onto his shoulder, closing her eyes, trying to drown out the sound of Hanzo beating Gon up. "I'm sorry..." she muttered out, barely above a whisper.
He sighed as well, saying: "Don't try something so stupid ever again." "...no promises." she said after a short pause, causing him to chuckle. At least she was being honest.
"But thank you, Killua. I hate seeing loved ones suffer. But you can calm me down really well. Can I hold your hand while we watch the fight?" she requested, lifting her head to look at him. His face flushed red as he quickly turned away, not wanting to look into her eyes.
"I-I mean... if you need it, then... s-sure." he finally managed to say, mentally cursing at himself for stuttering. (Y/N) smiled brightly, saying: "Thank you! I knew I could count on you, Killua!" His blush only worsened as they went back to their previous spot, now holding hands.
While he covered his face with his free arm, Killua was able to feel that same, warm feeling once more. It was like butterflies were flying around in his stomach, like the sun was constantly shining on him, like the gruesome and cruel world was suddenly colorful and not so bad. While he didn't quite understand this strange feeling, he didn't want it to go away. It felt right. It was comfortable.
He was snapped out of his thoughts as (Y/N) tightened the grip on his hand. She looked away, muttering: "That stupid..." Killua looked back at the fight, realizing that Hanzo had just broken Gon's arm in order to get him to surrender.
All of a sudden, Gon attacked Hanzo as he was giving a speech, then fell to the ground in pain. "My head's cleared a bit, after all the pain and that long explanation." he said, sitting up. Suddenly realizing something, (Y/N)'s frown turned into a bright grin.
She called out: "Gon! If you win this match, then I'll pay Hanzo back 1'000 times!" Chuckling darkly, she quietly added: "Oh, the beautiful crimson on the ground, the removal of several organs... What a show that would make!"
Killua stared at her, a bit taken back by her sudden dark side. Not that he minded that, of course. He himself had done things worse than that. And he knew that she had, as well. They were quite similar in more than just one way. Victims of this corrupt world, where misery and murder was something you could pay for.
Gon gave her a quick smile, then turned to face his opponent, saying: "If you're 18, then you're only six years older than me. Besides, this isn't a battle to see who's stronger. It's to see who's willing to surrender first."
Hanzo got up from the ground, his nose bleeding as he said: "I let you kick me on purpose." "Liar!" yelled Leorio, voicing everyone's thoughts. "You don't understand... This isn't a warning. It's an ultimatum. Was it too hard for you to understand? Then I'll make it easier for you." said Hanzo, wiping his blood off of his face.
He pulled a blade out of the bandages on his forearm, saying: "I'll cut off your legs, so that they can't be reattached. A permanent injury should help to wake you up. But first, I'll ask you once more. Surrender."
"I won't accept that!" called Gon out, to which everyone kept quiet. Everyone but (Y/N), who was back to her usual self. She was chuckling at him, saying: "That's just like him!"
Gon said: "I don't want my legs cut off, but I don't want to surrender. So let's find a different way to fight!" "Hey... Do you understand your own situation?! You don't get to make demands! Are you trying to insult me?! I'm seriously gonna cut off your legs!" yelled Hanzo out, pointing the blade at Gon.
"But I still will not surrender. Besides, if you do that, I'll bleed to death. He'll be disqualified if that happens, right?" asked Gon, looking at the judge of this fight. The man quickly answered: "Oh, yes." "See? Neither of us wants that to happen. So let's think of a better way."
