↜3rd Person Pov↝
It was now Killua vs Gittarackur. Looking at his opponent, the young boy didn't think much of him. But he was vary of him. After all, (Y/N) said she would've lost against him. And she was pretty much equal to him in strength.
"You can do it, Killua! Show him who's boss!" cheered (Y/N), gently pushing him forwards. He stumbled, as she was too strong once again. "Oh, sorry. Now go and win!" she said, smiling as usual.
Killua only stared at her for a moment, then returned her smile, feeling his heart starting to beat like crazy. Without another word, he walked up to his opponent, getting ready to fight. This would only take a few seconds, and he would be done. Easy, right?
"It's been too long, Kil." said Gittarackur, moving his hand up to his face, taking all of the needles out of his head. Immediately, his head began to morph into a completely new one. He looked much younger. His long, black hair fell just beneath his back as he continued to look at the young boy before him.
Killua's eyes were wide as he stared in shock. He never would have expected to see him here, out of everyone. "Illumi..." he trailed off, starting to shake slightly. "Hey." was all that Illumi said, staring his younger brother down.
(Y/N) watched with a frown, not liking how Killua suddenly changed from being carefree to scared. It didn't suit him at all. It made her nervous. "I don't like this..." she trailed off, her voice barely above a whisper.
As calm as ever, Illumi said: "I heard that you cut up Mom and Milluki." "I guess." replied Killua. "Mom was crying. Tears of joy. She was so happy to see that you'd grown up. But she was worried about you leaving home, so she asked me to check up on you. What a coincidence."
It looked like Illumi smiled a little as he said: "I didn't know you wanted to be a Hunter. I'm trying to get a license for my next job." Killua said: "I don't really want to be a Hunter. I just felt like taking the Exam."
"I see... That's a relief. Then I have some advice for you. You're not cut out to be a Hunter. You were born to be a killer." stated Illumi, causing Killua's blue eyes to widen once more.
"You're a puppet of darkness, without passion. You don't want anything or wish for anything. As one who lives in the shadows, you can only feel pleasure when people die. That's how Dad and I raised you." said Illumi, never once looking away from his younger brother.
Killua could do nothing but to listen, not wanting to believe him, yet finding it hard not to. "What would you accomplish by becoming a Hunter?" asked Illumi, to which Killua said: "True, I don't desire to become a Hunter. But..."
He closed his eyes for a moment, a clear image of (Y/N) and Gon in his mind, both of them smiling. Yes, he was certain of it. He said: "I do have something I want..." "You don't." "I do! There's something I really want!"
"Tell me what it is that you want." demanded Illumi, watching as Killua lowered his head. He contemplated on answering, a bit embarrassed. His older brother asked: "What's wrong? There's nothing you really want, is there?" "That's not it!"
After hesitating for a little longer, Killua finally admitted: "I want to become friends with (Y/N) and Gon... I'm sick of killing people... I want to become friends with them, and to live a normal life..."
"Killua..." muttered (Y/N) out, touched by his honest words. However, Illumi quickly burst his bubble as he said: "That's impossible. You'll never be able to make friends. Your only concern when you meet someone is whether you should kill them. That's how you were trained."
The white haired boy looked up at his brother, not wanting to listen any longer. This wasn't what he wanted to hear. And yet, he believed it was the truth. "You just don't know how to classify Gon because he's too dazzling for your eyes. As for (Y/N), you see her as your equal, a rival. You don't actually want to become friends with them." stated Illumi, as if it was the truth.
"You're wrong..." whispered Killua out. Illumi said: "If you stay with them, you'll end up wanting to kill them one day. You'll get the urge to see if you can kill them or not. Because you have the soul of a killer."
Leorio was about to protest, but he stopped himself as he noticed the young girl besides him. She tightened her hands into fists, calling: "Don't listen to him, Killua!" The two brothers both turned to look at her.
She continued: "What he says doesn't even make sense! If you truly wanted to kill us, then you would've done so already, right? You had more than enough opportunities. Besides, you're already our friend! You're my friend!"
Hearing that, Killua froze for a moment. He already... befriended them? Then... "Really?" asked Illumi, looking at her, then back at Killua. She said: "You bet! Killua's my friend!" "Really... That's no good. Okay, I'll kill (Y/N)." said Illumi, having thought about it only for half a second.
Killua's mind began to run wild. This is not how this was supposed to go. He knew very well just how strong and skilled his brother was. And he knew how strong (Y/N) was.
She wouldn't stand a chance.
Illumi grabbed a few needles in his hand, saying: "A killer doesn't need any friends. They'll only slow you down." With that, he suddenly disappeared from his position, causing Killua to gasp. It took him a bit to convince himself to turn his head, not sure if he could see her hurt.
And there she stood, holding both of Illumi's wrists, clearly struggling to push him back. "Oh? You expected this, didn't you? You really are skilled, I give you that." he said, managing to free one of his hands, even if she broke two of his fingers in the process.
"Don't you dare!" she hissed, her glare filled with hatred. Hatred towards the one that very clearly manipulated her dear friend. Not paying her words any mind, Illumi raised his hand, ready to kill her with a single strike.
"Stop!" yelled Killua, his blue eyes wide as he reached a hand out towards her. Illumi stopped in his movements, his hand just an inch away from her neck. "D-Don't! Don't kill (Y/N)! Please!"
