"It's finally time for the next round." said Kurapika, looking at Killua and (Y/N). "One of us, eh?" she asked, smiling at her friend. Killua looked at her, asking: "Do you want to go first?" She quickly shook her head, saying: "Nah, it's fine. I'll go last. I'm used to working under pressure, so I'll be just fine."

He nodded, then said: "Guess I'm off." "What? Killua?!" asked Leorio, looking at the white haired boy with shock. "What's that supposed to mean?" asked Killua back, with Leorio saying: "Damn it! I really needed to win my round..." "Gon... This guy is totally pissing me off!" "Now, now." said Gon, trying to calm him down.

"Don't give up before we even know what the contest is. Well, if it's something like mental math, I'm surrendering." said Killua, a bit quieter at the end. (Y/N) placed a hand onto his shoulder, saying. "Don't worry, you've still got me! Even if you lose, which I know you won't, I'll somehow manage to get two wins! I promise!"

He couldn't help but to smile a little, saying: "Yeah. Thanks." Leorio began to complain that the outcome of the Exam now relied on two literal children. One of which was a brat, and the other one an airhead.

Killua's opponent destroyed parts of the wall he was walking alongside of, taking off his cloak as soon as his handcuffs were off. Leorio's eyes widened as he saw him. "That guy..." "You know him?" asked Gon, looking up at his friend.

"We should take the loss." stated Leorio, as serious as never before. "Killua! Don't fight him." "Why not?" asked mentioned boy, not really caring who his opponent would be.

Leorio said: "Johness the Dissector. The worst mass murderer in Zaban's history. He chose his victims randomly. It was a famous case... 146 people, young and old, men and women, met with brutal deaths by his hand. The victims had one thing in common. He murdered all of them with his bare hands. He was known for his iron grip, the power in his fingers."

Suddenly getting uneasy, the girl among the group of six stepped closer to the edge of their space, saying: "Then I'm going." "What? Didn't you just listen? He's a psychotic killer! There's always next year!" called Leorio out, grabbing her by her shoulders and shaking her back and forth.

"But I-" started (Y/N), only for Killua to cut her off. "I'm not letting you fight him. Experience or not, he's dangerous." he told her, starting to walk on the bridge, towards the arena. She ran after him, saying: "But-" "I can do it." he told her, turning around to face her.

She clearly hesitated, sorting her thoughts. After a few, silent seconds, she nodded, saying: "Alright. I believe in you. But if he kills you, I'll never forgive you. Ever." His cold, blue eyes widened slightly as he noticed how teary her eyes had gotten.

This was the only real threat up until now. "(Y/N)..." he trailed off, a warm, unfamiliar feeling spreading through his body. It felt like he was going to puke, but in a somewhat good way? He had no clue how to describe it.

"Now go before I change my mind." she said, forcing a smile onto her lips. He nodded shortly, then turned to enter the arena. (Y/N) stood next to Gon, fidgeting with her hands. "It'll be fine, (Y/N). Killua can win." he told her, trying to lift her mood.

She watched anxiously, muttering: "I know, but... I've lost many companions in battles, similar to this. I... I don't..." She struggled to find the right words to say. She was so used to death that it didn't bother her. Unless it were the people close to her that were dying.

And even though she hadn't known this group for long, she was already attached to each of them. Especially to Gon and Killua. The thought of one of them dying was enough to cause her breath to quicken.

Gon took both of her hands in his, saying: "This is Killua we're talking about. He probably already has a plan!" She looked at him with wide eyes, then closed them, taking a deep breath. "Probably, yeah." she agreed, trying her best to calm down again.

Meanwhile, Killua asked his opponent: "How will we settle this contest?" "Contest? I believe you're confused. This will be a one-sided massacre. I have no interest in the Exam or any offer of amnesty. I just want to hear you scream." said Johness, simply staring the boy down.

"Really? Okay. Then the loser is the one who dies." he stated, to which the prisoner said: "Yeah, that's right. I'll tear your body apart." Before the murderer could even move, Killua had already passed him, holding something in his hand.

Breathing a heavy sigh of relief, (Y/N) grinned as she continued to watch. "Wh-What? I'm so cold." said the prisoner, looking back, clutching his chest. Killua grinned, holding a piece of cloth up that contained his opponents' still beating heart.

Before the murderer could reach him, however, he fell to the ground, dying. Placing the heart back into his hand, Killua casually said: "Okay. That's three wins, two losses. Your turn, (Y/N)." "Okay!" she said, suddenly filled with energy.

"Who is he?" asked Leorio, watching as Killua walked back over to them. "Ah, you guys don't know, huh?" noted (Y/N), looking up at Leorio. "Huh? Don't know what?" Gon answered: "Killua comes from an elite family of assassins."

"Eh? A-An elite family of assassins?" asked Leorio, more than just shocked. It was then that Killua stepped onto their space, saying: "I'm back." "I was so scared for a second! Killua!" called (Y/N) out, throwing her arms around him, trapping him in a tight hug.

He hesitantly returned the hug, his face getting red as he said: "You idiot. That was nothing..." "But still! Just the thought was scary enough!" she defended herself, releasing the boy again. He then looked at Leorio, who backed off a little, asking: "What?"

"Uh... Well, good work!" was Leorio's simple reply, not sure how to act now. Deciding to let it slide, Killua said: "Good luck, (Y- Where is she?" The five of them looked around, not seeing her anywhere.

Then, Gon pointed at the arena, saying: "There!" "I knew that she wants to leave this place, but that quickly?" asked Leorio, a bit taken back that she was ready to continue her task without a break after what just happened. She placed a hand onto her hip, asking: "So? Who's my opponent?"
