Oikawa was nervous, very nervous. Y/N, his long term girlfriend, had her head in his lap watching the clouds. He had never been this nervous to talk to Y/N about something. But he had also never had to tell her that he would be moving to another country.

He couldn't even remember the last time he was nervous to talk to Y/N. Was it maybe the first time he fully opened up to her? Oikawa still remembered that day clearly. He was so scared that if he showed her his true self, instead of his persona, she would leave him.

It took months before he fully had opened up to Y/N. Fighting the urge to run away at every chance. Because of Y/N, Oikawa had gotten over his fear of commitment.

Oikawa smiled down at the girl in his lap. She meant everything to him. They had started dating at 17 and now Oikawa's 20th birthday was approaching.

"Look at that one!" Her voice was so soft. He wanted to listen to it for the rest of his life.

Oikawa looked up at the cloud Y/N was pointing out. "It looks like a volleyball!" Oikawa swallowed. Volleyball.

Oikawa loved volleyball. But, was it worth picking up his entire life and moving to another country? Was it worth leaving everything behind? Well, not everything. Oikawa's body relaxed when he looked back down at Y/N, a small smile taking over his face.

That's right, he wasn't leaving everything behind. At least, he didn't plan to. He wanted Y/N to come with him. But, could he really ask that of her? Oikawa knew he had to try.

"That one reminds me of Iwa." Y/N pointed to another cloud that resembled a chibi version of Iwaizumi's head. "And look!" Y/N pointed to another cloud. "You're next to him."

Y/N turned her attention to Oikawa. "Hey Tohru, how is Iwa doing? Is he still enjoying life in America?"

They hadn't seen Iwaizumi in person for quite a while now. Their friend had left for college in America shortly after graduation. They stayed in touch but it wasn't the same. It was sad not having him around.

"He's doing great. I talked to him yesterday. He said he really likes it there." Y/N smiled and looked back up at the clouds.

Oikawa tilted his head up to the sky remembering his conversation with Iwaizumi. Oikawa had told him the big news and Iwaizumi was so happy for him. He was the first person Oikawa told. If anyone could understand moving to a new country, it was his best friend.

Iwaizumi encouraged Oikawa to go for it, giving him the reassurance that he needed. Oikawa had already decided that he would be going to Argentina, but he was grateful that someone else had agreed with his decision.

There was a long road ahead of him and Oikawa was ready to start his journey. He just hoped that Y/N would come with him. He couldn't lose her. If needed, Oikawa was ready to make long distance work.

"You're quieter than usual today." Oikawa looked down at Y/N to find her watching him. He smiled softly down at her.

"Just admiring your beauty." He couldn't help but flirt. Oikawa knew it was wrong to lie to her but he couldn't help himself. She had laid the perfect groundwork for that line.

Y/N laughed. Man, Oikawa loved the sound of that. "You weren't even looking at me." Oikawa just smiled at her.

Things returned to normal after that. Y/N continued to point out clouds and Oikawa participated too. But it wasn't long before the nagging feeling crept into Oikawa's chest.

"Hey, Y/N." She looked up at him. But Oikawa wasn't smiling this time and kept his eyes focused on the clouds.

"Yes Tohru?" Y/N sat up.

Oikawa finally looked at Y/N with a sad smile. He was finally ready to talk to her about it and was ready for whatever answer she gave.

"I received a letter from Argentina yesterday. Club Atheltico San Juan wants me as their setter and I want to go." He watched as Y/N's face morphed into excitement, but he could see a hint of fear in her eyes. Oikawa had expected her to be scared, but he was caught off guard by how happy she looked at the same time.

"That's fantastic! I'm so happy for you!"

Oikawa paused, trying to see if Y/N was faking these words. But she seemed so genuine. This was fantastic. The nagging feeling disappeared and he was no longer scared to say his next few words.

"I want you to come with me." He felt confident and ready for anything. They would make it work, no matter what. But he had to at least try to get her to come.

Y/N smiled and pulled Oikawa into a hug. "I'd follow you anywhere."
