Hours. Y/N spent hours learning to make chuupet for one guy. For none other than the forever laid back Suna Rintarou. It's his favorite snack after all and Y/N wanted to impress him.
Y/N wasn't a fan girl. She grew up with Suna. She knew practically everything about him. Which made her a bit of a target for his fan club. But it never scared Y/N away. Neither did Suna's careless attitude.
All of yesterday, Y/N was busy making a mess out of her kitchen trying to make the jelly straws. It looked like a war zone. Her failed attempts ended up in the trash, while her unpresentable ones were piled in the fridge. And there were many. Y/N was just grateful that she bought so many silicon molds and that some of the batches had turned out as planned.
Since they were in different classes, Y/N had to wait all day to give them to Suna. And that's how she got here. Standing in the middle of the gymnasium presenting Suna with a container of homemade chuupet. His favorite snack.
The team had just started cleaning up after practice and Y/N, as the team's manager, was there with them. She marched up to Suna with the container in hand. She had an angry blush coating her cheeks. Y/N bowed slightly, pushing the box out toward Suna.
"I made you some chuupet!" Y/N inwardly cursed herself for blushing. It was just Suna, she reminded herself. She had been like this for a couple months, blushing anytime she was near him. It was strange. Y/N was sure that something was wrong with her.
Suna blinked down at Y/N, processing what was being presented to him. He watched silently as Y/N straightened up and raised an eyebrow at him. "Aren't you going to at least try one?" Suna suppressed a smile at the sass in her voice. He could clearly see the blush on her face, despite it rapidly fading away.
Suna reached out to pick up one of the jelly straws. He noticed that the container didn't just hold the traditional stick, but other shapes as well. Circles, squares, stars, hearts.
"No fair! I want Y/N to make me something! Can I have one?" The louder of the Miya twins called out. He had never seen Y/N make something for anyone before and he wanted to be a part of it. This was a side of Y/N he had never seen. He was constantly throwing jokingly flirty comments at Y/N.
"Shut it Atsumu!" Y/N grumbled. The angry blush rushed back to her cheeks. Y/N watched impatiently for Suna to take a bite.
Suna lifted the jelly straw to his mouth. He hesitantly took a taste. The texture and flavor were good so he placed the rest of the straw in his mouth. He reached for another, and then another. They were surprisingly good.
"Well?" Y/N asked expectantly. She was waiting for feedback but Suna was too busy stuffing his face. That fact alone made a part of Y/N happy, but she reminded herself that she made these for a reason. She needed to hear him say it.
"What?" He asked, completely unfazed by Y/N's attitude. Suna reached for another chuupet.
"Aren't you going to take back what you said on Friday?"
Y/N remembered it clearly. Three days ago at practice, Atsumu asked Y/N if she could make the team lemons for their next game. Before Y/N could respond, Suna jumped in. He immediately announced that Y/N couldn't make anything.
She knew where the comment had come from. When they were younger, Y/N had attempted to make Suna chocolates once. But they came out horrible. Then it was rice balls, but Y/N accidentally used spoiled ingredients. It was true that child Y/N was not the most gracious in the kitchen, but the comment still ticked her off. Y/N had changed.
All eyes were on Y/N and Suna.
"No," he said.
Y/N's face twisted with anger. She couldn't believe that she went through all the trouble of making Suna chuupet and he still wouldn't take back what he said. Suna smirked. This was the exact reaction he had wanted to see.
Suna stepped forward, placing a chaste kiss on Y/N's cheek. "You're cute when you're angry." Suna stole the container of chuupet from Y/N's hands and began to walk away. "Let's walk home together today."
Y/N remained frozen. Her heart was beating so fast she feared she would have a heart attack. The blush covering her face was unavoidable. Y/N brought a hand up to the cheek Suna kissed. What just happened? And why did she want him to do it again?
