Bokuto x f!reader

The coaches for the Black Jackals didn't mind when Y/N would sit in on their practices. It helped keep Bokuto in line. The whole team was fond of Y/N. She is a very kind woman, and she is one of the only people that can pull Bokuto out of his funks.

Today the Black Jackals were having a get together, one in which close friends were invited. Everyone knew that Y/N would be attending and Bokuto was beyond excited. But no one expected to see Y/N in the state she was when she showed up.

Y/N had busted her ankle and wrist. She had tripped over her pet, and in order to save the animal from being landed on, Y/N sacrificed her arm. She had a brace on her ankle and one on her right wrist and was sporting a pair of crutches.

Bokuto's eyes widened when he saw her. The owllike man rushed to her side. "Y/N! What happened? Are you okay?" Bokuto gently place his hands on her. One on Y/N's cheek and the other on shoulder. Y/N smiled, shifting her weight on the crutches to cup Bokuto's hand on her cheek.

"I fell," Y/N admitted sheepishly.

Bokuto's eye brows furrowed. "I'll carry you to your seat!" He declared. On cue, Hinata appeared by Bokuto's side offering to carry Y/N's crutches. Y/N laughed them off. She was grateful that they cared but she could handle herself.

For a while now, the Black Jackals have been questioning the nature of Bokuto and Y/N's relationship. Bokuto is very fond of Y/N, protective even, and every time she is near he becomes incredibly happy. She never fails to lift his mood.

They know that Bokuto and Y/N met in their first year of high school, and they have been inseparable since. But wasn't clear is if their relationship is strictly friendly or romantic. So much so, that the team has a secret bet going. Four of them believe that Bokuto and Y/N are in a romantic relationship, and the other five believe that they are just friends.

Atsumu, Sakusa, and Hinata all bet that Bokuto and Y/N are just friends. Not because they believe Bokuto and Y/N don't have feelings for each other. But rather they don't believe that Bokuto has ever confessed his feelings or is too dense to have understood if Y/N ever confessed her feelings for him.

The team watched as Y/N refused Bokuto's offer, which he refused to acknowledge. They watched as Bokuto swept Y/N off her feet, carrying her bridal style as Hinata stole her crutches. Hinata, of course, took off on the crutches messing around. No one was surprised by that, it had been expected.

Bokuto placed a pouting Y/N in his chair. "I'll go get you a foot stool!" Bokuto ran off before Y/N could respond. Y/N frowned, watching him go. Bokuto was being sweet and all but Y/N didn't need this special treatment. Her injuries looked worse than they felt.

"What happened, L/N?" Atsumu asked. He turned his chair to face Y/N. Y/N's frown fell off her face and was replaced by a light blush.

"My pet tripped me."

Atsumu laughed. He didn't mean to be rude but he found it amusing. Tripping on her pet did seem like something that would happen to Y/N. The woman in question blushed darker, swinging a playful punch into Atsumu's arm.

"It's not funny!" Y/N laughed along with him.

Bokuto returned with a box for Y/N to keep her leg elevated. "Do you need some ice?" Bokuto asked her with a gentle voice.

Y/N smiled at him. "Thank you Kotaro, but I'm fine, really." Bokuto smiled back down at her. He affectionately stroked Y/N's hair, causing the young woman to blush.

"Got any plans for the weekend, L/N?" Sakusa asked.

Y/N smiled at Sakusa. "Yeah, Kotaro and I have a movie marathon planned for tomorrow. You guys are welcome to come if you'd like." Sakusa and Atsumu both smiled, but kindly rejected the offer.

"Are you going to be at our practice on Monday?" Atsumu asked. Bokuto took a seat in the grass next to Y/N.

"I'm not sure..."

"You gotta come!" Hinata pleaded. He swung himself over to them on the crutches, struggling to catch his breath. "We've been working on a new quick attack that you have to see!"

Y/N smiled. "Then I guess I'll have to come and watch."

"Yay!" Bokuto celebrated along with Hinata.

The group continued conversing as time passed. Soon enough food was ready, and that was when Bokuto did something completely unexpected.

"I'm gonna go get us some food." Bokuto announced. The team watched in absolute shock as Bokuto leaned down and placed a quick kiss on Y/N's lips. Everyone's jaw dropped. Bokuto was affectionate with Y/N, but the team had never seen anything other than a hug. Bokuto had never even held Y/N's hand in front of them, but now he was kissing her.

Atsumu, Sakusa, and Hinata all looked at each other in shock. They had lost the bet. But in all honesty, they couldn't have been happier.
